It is located on the main road to the railroad station and a few minutes walk to the Ping River where you will find a variety of international restaurants, pubs and cafes. It is also just a short walk to a Buddhist temple and a local market name "SAN PA KHOI" where you will find a delicious assortment of northern Thai food, fruit and confections.

We stayed here for a few night on our journey through Thailand. A beautiful, peaceful hotel with old style chique. Really lovely staff at the front desk and around the small resort.

When I booked I had made an error and was expecting a larger room, this was entirely my fault but the hotel chose to move us to a larger room free of charge. The rooms are quaint with local theme to their decoration, and a lot of thought has gone into making sure that they take care of the environment where possible.

The breakfasts have been talked about on here a lot. It is all true, is a great experience, and nothing is too much trouble. We also received an amazing welcome in their cafe next door when we went in for a delicious lunch.

This hotel is not your usual glass and concrete high rise. It is thoughtful, clean and so welcoming. A special shout out to Rose on reception, and the rest of the team.

Although set in a busy commercial street, once you enter into this hotel grounds you are in a beautiful green and eco site. Lush green foliage and winding paths lead you to the eco style properties. My wife and I booked a Superior double room which was spacious, had a huge four poster bed with mosquito net, separate lounge and two bathrooms. The lounge can be used for further sleeping if needed. There are two pools on site, Massage facilities and restaurant. Breakfast was lovely and in a fantastic setting next to one of the pools. The staff and reception are all very friendly and willing to help with booking tours for you. They arranged a 4 hour trip for my wife and I with a guide who picked us up from the hotel late afternoon and took us to the mountain scenic views to watch the sunset and showed up lots of sites and a tour of one of the local palaces.
The hotel is not directly in the middle of the main tourist areas but it is not that far can be walked. They also offer a free shuttle to the markets daily. There are restaurants and shops near by and banks currency exchange all within easy walking distance. Really loved this hotel and would highly recommend.

Lovely small hotel with a few villas and rooms. We stayed in a room which was nice and came with a great big bed and en-suite toilet and shower which were really nice. Place had an authentic Thai feel and centred around a very green courtyard. Two nice pools although due to limited sun were pretty cold.

Breakfast was great with a modest but complete selection, including eggs and avocado on toast etc. along with some Thai bits and bobs.

Only comment was the doors to the rooms had a traditional locking system with a padlock so as a couple if one person went out of the room the person in the room would have to leave the door unlocked to allow them back in without disturbance, but this is a small constructive criticism, don’t let that put u off.

Free shuttle up to the old city was a nice touch, although it was only a 30 minute walk along a safe road which we enjoyed back to the hotel into the late evening.

Staff were excellent and hospitable, answering questions and resolving issues as required.

I would suggest the villas are probably for families, and the rooms are for couples young and old.

We loved this hotel and stayed for 5 nights. The staff are fantastic, speak excellent English and are very helpful. I had communicated with them prior to our arrival as I had a few questions, and they were quick to respond. We arrived very early from an overnight train, and we were allowed to check straight in, we also were able to get a late check out. The staff also helped out with transport options and laundry service.
The rooms are beautifully decorated. I loved to entrance doors that are all painted with a different scene and lock with a padlock. The glazed tiles in the bathroom and handmade wooden reminded me of Japan, and they also supplied an array of toiletries.
The aircon worked too good, and the beds were so comfortable, the room was also surprisingly quite seeing it is on a busy road.
We only used the small pool, as we liked the green leafy garden.
There is a mini mart close by, and a day time local market hidden behind some shops just before the mini mart, where you try some local delicacies.
A massage and spa across the road, and the gate and old town is a short tuk tuk ride or about 2km walk, and the train station is about a 10min walk.
We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, and would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Chiang Mai.

Not worth the price, location is bad.

Pros: It has an authentic feel of an older building.
Very clean and quaint.

Cons: it's about a 25 minute walk to the downtown area which is not bad but coming back at night is not a nice stroll and you'll be sweating a lot.

The room has an electric kettle for tea or coffee which is made of plastic therefore the water tastes like plastic after heating. The power cord is very short and plugs are at the bottom so it has to be placed on the floor for use.

The wifi on the second floor is low or non-existing, try not to rely on it.

The safebox is too high, so short people need a chair to access and not lit enough for proper use.

The air conditioner worked but it is very old, so the air is cold but not clean. It also drips so think twice before putting anything valuable on the table underneath the air conditioner.

No body lotion available as an amenity, weird for a hotel that is a spa.

What a lovely little boutique gem within Chiang Mai. We stayed her for 4 nights and had a wonderful stay.

The team here are extremely welcoming, kind polite and thoughtful. They certainly go the extra mile to make sure your stay is comfortable and relaxing. Everyone we spoke to were so friendly, offering advice and guidance on what to see and do. We even booked a trip through reception for Doi Inthanon, and everything ran smoothly.

The rooms are a good size and comfortable, we were always greeted at our room by little geckos running around.

The pool was a welcome amenity to have a little dip after a long day, and the surrounding plants were beautiful.

Breakfast was included and what a great selection of tasty treats, ranging from wonderful tasty fruits to some of the best pancakes and French toast dishes we have had. The team even made sure we had coffee and food to take away with us on an early trip.

This place is in a great location, close to shops, restaurants, night markets and within a reasonable walking distance of the old town.

Overall, very happy with our stay here, would highly recommend.

We loved our room at the Shewe Wana Boutique Resort. We are a family of 4 travel with a little and loved that we had a separate living area and kitchenette. Also a huge patio and luggage room! We were able to put our little to bed and we could stay up later vs traditional hotel rooms.
We really loved the property and all of the water features. It was very serene. And the staff and breakfast buffet were the best! So friendly and prompt. They even made me a special kind of coffee each morning with coconut milk! And they were super attentive to our children.
The only down side was location to restaurants and shopping. But everything was just a short tuk tuk ride away!
We would definitely stay again!

We spent our holidays here 5 years ago and it was wonderful to be back at Shewe Wana with our family last week. The staff were wonderful and went out of their way to make our stay as great as it was. What distinguishes this hotel from the other hotels that we visited in this area was the sincere care and personal attention from the staff for both us and our children. And the wonderful breakfast! We will definitely come back, again.

It’s pretty central but also not so you won’t hear anything from the street noise.
The staff was really friendly and helpful
I recommend this place if you are with your backpack on the tour
We were staying on the ground floor so I recommend that you ask for an upper floor because it can be a little loud because of the other guests. It’s extremely safe!

Lovely, quiet spot in bustling city. Within Walking distance of Station and Night Market. Friendly, helpful and committed staff. We stayed for 3 nights with 2 adults, 2 children (11, 13y), who loved the pools to relax after a warm day.
