Note: THIS HOTEL IS NOT IN CHIANG MAI. It is in Chiang Khong on the Thai-Laos border, a 7 hour drive from Chiang MAI. We stayed here one night before our border crossing into Laos, it came as part of a transfer package we had booked. So far in 4 weeks travelling it has been the worst place we've stayed...

We just laughed when we saw the room. Mosquito nets and a peg for hanging clothes. However the towels where clean, I didn't get into the bed because there was no top sheet!! No way was I sleeping under a blanket that other people may have slept under. Shared toilet facilities, showers had concrete floors but they did provide little...

We stayed here one night, double bedroom with shared bathroom. Price was good, location good, it looked really nice and was very quiet. Rooms and bathrooms were nice and clean. Wifi doesn't work in the rooms. Downsides: they offer slowboat packages but when we were there they didn't because they didn't have any food (?). We couldn't have dinner or...

Arrived at the end of a long day in an 8-seater van. We had taken a room with private ensuite and were perfectly comfortable - the bed was good, a/c and fan worked well, the shower was fine. Our tour included an evening meal, breakfast and packed lunch for a trip on the Mekong - all were palatable, but nothing...

Arrived here with a package tour to the brder and slow boat. First we got a room with two single beds, but we chose to get an upgrade for 200 bat to have a big bed and a private bathroom. The shared bathroom rooms are a bit noisy, i suspect, but it looked clean. Our private room was fine, clean,...

Rooms are nice, although many walls are bare cement. The bathroom is outside the room in a screened in section. The hot air from the air conditioner makes going to the bathroom feel like you are walking into an oven with occasional water dripping on you, we ate there and service was slow some in my group did take away...

We stayed here as part of a G adventures tour for 1 night before crossing the border to Laos. The room was boiling hot when we checked in and we couldn't get the air con to work. On investigation it turned out the batteries in the remote control were finished. We replaced them with some spares we had but why...

There seems to be some confusion with this page - the guesthouse pictured is not the Nam Khong Guest House in Chiang Mai. That branch was quite nice; the staff were quite friendly (especially the head lady, 'Annabelle'). The rooms are fairly clean, the noise isn't bad, and there is a nice lobby for reading/relaxing/meeting other travelers. As with most...

This quite possibly be the worst service iv ever seen in Thailand and that's after many years traveling in this part of the world. Movie night- no - staff watching Thai soapy, dinner discussing, 50thr to use pool, 20thr to use a towel + 100thr deposit, they advertise as river side - no - other side of town. Just don't...

We stayed here as part of the Laos slow-boat package. What a joke! Everything, including towels, the swimming pool, cushions were all chargeable! What really took the biscuit was in the public restaurant and bar area, where you're allowed to watch films on the TV, was when two of the staff came in and turned the film off that everyone...
