Yes it's gorgeous by the pool... but the benches for sitting on were wet and dirty 5 hours after it had stopped raining. Yes the courtyard LOOK nice in photos - but lots of mosquitoes. The rooster wakes up at 6am. So do you. Allergic to cats? I am. My bathroom stinks like a cat loo, and sick kittens wander...

This hotel is very nice and well located. You stay in a wooden house, rooms are AC equipted and bedding comfortable. The personels are nice and helpful. For those who visited Jim Thompson house in Bangkok, you will feel like sleeping in Jim's. A bit noisy because of the street but fine with hear plugs. Breakfast is ok. Bread coffe/tea...

Initally booked a 4 night stay with a 1 night break at this hotel based on a recommendation. Having seen the reviews I was apprehensive but tried to stay positive. Unfortunately I should have trusted the Trip Advisor reviewers. The place wasn't clean, had to share my stale bread with ants, so dark you couldn't see in the rooms and...

This place has potential, no doubt, but it seriously needs an overhaul. It's too dark, cluttered with colonial memorabilia collecting dust, and is generally too unkempt to maintain its romantic erstwhile charm. The light bulbs need to be brighter, the rooms need natural daylight, the mosquito nets and silk curtains need to be removed or kept spotlessly clean, the vegetation...

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were so helpful and couldn't do enough for us. Handy having a restaurant and swimming pool on site. It is a little haven in the busy city full of character and a memorable part of our trip to Chiang Mai.

Looked to be the best place along the road so called in to have an evening meal. We were the only people in the restaurant. The service was fine. The meal was what we ordered, hot, tasty. For this part it all looked clean and the staff attentive.

This was by far the worst hotel I've ever been to, understaffed, dirty to the point it's not even sanitary, and with the rudest manager and useless service you can find. Let me tell you my story in three parts: ARRIVAL I booked from one night before our arrival, since we wanted to check in at 7 am (after a...

First time I have been compeled to write a bad review. The rooms are nice and the ambiance also lovely around the hotel, but that is all I can compliment them on. Buffet breakfast consisted of cornflakes, museli, 2 fruits, one kind of bread, one jam, 1/2 glass orange juice and water, coffee/tea. we had to pay for scrambled eggs.....it...

I stayed here a handful of years back and loved it but this time it wasn't as nice. The hotel itself was still nice but the service had declined significantly. When I first stayed here, the owner and her daughters were very present. We had been greeted with tea and service was wonderful across the spectrum. This time, they couldn't...

Tranquil oasis during our time in Chiang Mai (I was on a small group adventure tour). Such a lovely and oldy worldy colonial style hotel. So much better than the guesthouses you usually stay in on adventure tours, but not a concrete 'modern facilities' hotel (some may prefer this type of hotel, I certainly don't). There is a really good...

“Go for the rooms with a double bed, they are gorgeous.”

“poolside rooms are convenient but doors must be kept closed at all times because the mozzies are around in swarms near the pool.”

“Be aware that the rooms in the rear part are painted red and therefore are a bit dark - this is a part of the authentic concept. The front rooms are around a nice courtyard with doors to the pool. I personally think the upstairs rooms are the nicest.”

“If picking a guest house in Chiang Mai, pick something within walking distance to night market or centre of town as Chiang Mai is very pedestrian friendly. If choosing a room at this hotel, opt for the double, pool facing rooms on the second floor (I think they might be the best ones)”
