Dao and her staff take care of everything for you, and make your time in Chiang Mai so relaxing and easy. They will help you with anything, and guide you towards what’s best to do in Chiang Mai without even asking. They are so friendly that you feel at home, which creates a very open and fun atmosphere for all guests. I would not stay anywhere else! Thank-you!!!

My 13 year old son and I spent a few days here at the beginning of January 24 and really enjoyed it; in some ways it was a little scuffed around the edges but the family who run it and the atmosphere more than made up for it. We were made to feel part of the extended family and it was a great experience, both the guest house and Chiang Mai too. I've seen some of the very critical reviews of Libra and, to those people, I would say, it's a guesthouse, not a 5 star hotel, and if you don't relax and immerse yourself in the experience, it isn't for you - go to the Hilton or Holiday Inn. What else, oh breakfast was great and the lady who does the massage right next door is fantastic - recommend you try.

We loved Libra Guesthouse. This was my 4th stay and is my go to place when I visit Chiang Mai. Dao and her family are the perfect hosts. They helped us book cooking school and a visit to the elephant sanctuary The rooms are spotless and comfortable. The swimming pool is a nice added bonus to cool ourselves down after a day exploring temples. We can't wait to come back, jen & dec

Libra guest house is a calm, family-owned place situated in a vivid area of the old city. Besides the amazing pool the owners are extremely kind and treat you like a guest and not a tourist. I definitely recommend staying there.

5 stars is not enough for this place. The rooms are more that what is needed but the service, staff and kindness was second to none( stayed with my two children 8 & 11 and their uncle. We did the Karen Village overnight trek with Nu.....WOW - what a guide. He looked after us to much, the village people were very hospitable and kind and the food was delicious. Nu was so informative enroute and also made us chopstocks out of bamboo, banana leaf hats to keep off the sun....it was incredible. Dao run Libra fantastically, she was so helpful, kind, caring and lovely. I wish all the places I had been to in Thailand had a caring owner like Dao. A big shout out to Nemo.......she worked with Dao, and lit up our stay.. her massage palour next door was the best we had on our 6 week trip!

We would just like to say, What a lovely , enjoyable time we have had spending time with Libra Guesthouse. Dao was absolutely amazing, outstanding, funny , caring, and we felt like we we had the best time ever. We were made to feel very welcome, and nothing was too much to ask . Noo was the best tour guide , letting us spend time with his family in Karen village . Spending time with the elephants , with Noo taking his time to carve Cups and Chopsticks from Bamboo. The bamboo rafting was Epic , exhilarating, and the scenery was amazing with Cowes, and Birds and butterflies.on the way. Nemo was the life and soul of the party very loving and caring with Katie and Jack , the food recommendations. The Thai massage was excellent, and I felt thoroughly impressed and relaxed. And finally, the Lebra Guest house was clean tidy, with excellent WIFI / AirCon . The Guesthouse house was like home than a hotel . 5 stars does not seem enough credit to give Lebra . It should be 10. + . We would thoroughly recommend Lebra .love from Jason

We could only stay for two nights (as fulll booked for Songkrat). This family run guest house has excellent facilities and caters for all types is travellers at a great price. Doi (the owner) was very helpful in helping us organising excursions to maximise our short stay….even with early starts to see Dawn at Doi Suthep. Enjoy a relaxed stay and filling breakfasts to start your day.

I had a really great relaxed stay in this lovely green and leafy guest house. Libra is located in a nice part of the walled city with great access to the nearby cafes, massage, services and everything you need. It’s so relaxed walking around and easy to get around. I had a choice of rooms and opted for a room with air conditioning and my Yan bathroom although many styles were available when I was shown around to pick. Best of all is the service from the family from excellent food served usually most of the day which was great if I had a sleep in! Dao and her family were truly amazing and looked after all my tour bookings which were unique and special compared to what was available at the places my friends stayed and the tour offices. With Dao and Libra’s help I had superb help planning my trip and a really great trek, elephant feeding in rural quiet village with no electric, amazing outdoor adventures, jungle and trek as well as bathed in hot springs. Many of the temples are nearby or were easily arranged by tour if preferred however I chose to visit local temples myself and the further away ones were included in my tours. I can highly recommend for a beautiful relaxing stay with much to do and enjoy. I am returning later in my trip after a visit to Pai for a further stay as I enjoyed it so much.

I went to Chiang Mai with a group to study Thai massage and we stayed here. It is absolutely lovely and the owners are amazing. So kind and helpful. The room was great and breakfast every morning was so delicious! Best coffee I've ever had! Please book directly through their website if possible. This helps them out a lot.

This family-run guesthouse is simply delightful. As one of the first guesthouses in the area, the family has been running it since 1987. We stayed in the "small house," which was a stand alone building nestled under the trees with its own veranda. The place was very quiet, despite its sprawling nature. The pool was refreshingly cool and the breakfast was fantastic. A great deal for travellers and families alike. The hostess even organized for us to be picked up at the airport for free along with a paid guide/translator/cook for a private jungle tour I took with my life partner, who is a photographer. She lent us two sleeping bags, which were a life saver. And her husband even hand-delivered a package I had missed to a village during our tour. "We're like family," she smiled as we said our goodbyes. I highly recommend staying here. It will restore your faith in humanity. An unforgettable, heartfelt experience all around!
