I'm back at this amazing Chiang Mai resort for the fourth time! When I'm in Chiang Mai, Anantara Resort is my number one pick for "a place to stay". No matter if I'm here on business or for fun, this place never disappoints. It's right on the Ping River. Rooms are spacious and well-appointed, and best of all, all rooms have amazing river views! Breakfast here is one of the best in town (in my opinion), and there's a variety of Western and Thai options. Their Lanna Omelet is so good. Try their signature Lanna omelet if you want a taste of fusion-style northern food. This is a great place to stay if you're looking for a weekend getaway or a delightful business trip in Chiang Mai. I would definitely stay here again if I'm in Chiang Mai next time. Stella job!

Lovely comfy beds, nice pillows and good A/C. Beautiful, very contemporary architecture. The room however was really dark in the evenings even with all the lights on. Difficult to do your evening makeup. In fact the hotel in general was quite dark, with lots of areas were you could fall off the side of a walkway in the gloom, into a rectangle of water or whatever. Breakfast was great but eating in the evening on the terrace was difficult because of being eaten alive by Mozzies and being unable to actually see the food you are eating. We had to shine our phones onto the food, such is the gloom. The pool and the bars were great, as were the staff. We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary whilst there and ate in the Service 1921 restaurant. Despite telling them beforehand it was our anniversary and booking a month in advance, we were led to a table of 4 and they then took the other 2 place settings away and our wedding anniversary was not mentioned at all. A lady on another table had a birthday and they made a fuss of her, but we were forgotten about which is a shame. It made the evening feel not terribly special. Oh well.... The location is great, right within walking distance of the old town. We got a couple of tuk-tuks as well and were not ripped off, just agree the price in advance and it was fine. All in all a great stylish hotel, but we felt a little on edge there and not terribly relaxed. The cost was huge in comparison to the 2 other Anantaras we had just stayed in in Bangkok, which we preferred. It was beautiful and everything but i don't think we would be in a hurry to go back.…

It was a truly amazing trip to Chiang Mai. It was our first time there; the staff at Anantara were friendly and warm. My wife and I felt very welcomed. The service was impeccable; very attentive to us. Love the service residence we booked - clean, got everything you need. Fluffy and comfortable pillows and bed. Had a restful sleep. No need to bring travel adaptor as the bedside tables already had the charging ports available. Spacious room. Spa, afternoon tea and food were divine. Definitely coming again :)

Visited Anantara Chiang Mai as a solo traveler (pleasure, in between business meetings) and loved every moment. Exceptionally peaceful property, beautifully constructed and incredible service. The riverfront location transports you away from the busy city, but you're only a short cab ride away from all the activity Chiang Mai offers. I loved strolling out the front door of the property and exploring the local restaurants, storefronts and bars. The evening happy hour was a great way to enjoy the property at sunset before dinner and the staff were only too happy to help recommend and secure reservations at either of the on-site restaurants or off-site. My Suite was well-appointed and VERY spacious. The furnishings and design elements were exceptionally chic – minimal, but with a 'sense of place' and culture. This was my first visit to an Anantara after my travel advisor at Smartflyer recommended this property, and I will certainly be returning.…

Simply perfect. Up there with the Grand Hyatt Club in Hong Kong as the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Room was fantastic, bed comfortable, choice of pillows. Food wonderful and reasonably priced. Staff friendly and helpful and all with a smile. Great spa, fabulous grounds. Genuinely can’t find anything negative to say about it, and I’m very hard to please.

Amazing resort. The pool is excellent, huge and very relaxing. The pool alone is a very good reason to return to this hotel. The common areas are elegant and well cared for. The rooms and views are beautiful, the architecture and design still very beautiful. The staff throughout are extremely friendly and always ready to help. Special mention to Prim - who always made our mornings a little bit more special. She was extremely professional, always ready to help and to give great advice. The Bodhi terrace restaurant was excellent and the service very good (I can't quite remember the name of our excellent server - Fai maybe?) and the same can be said of the Brit Bar - amazing drinks and value. The service here, especially of the duty manager (didn't get her name unfortunately) was also excellent. There is a Jim Thomson shop in the hotel with very friendly staff. The location by the river and an easy walk to the old city gates is hard to beat. The Anantara brand continues to impress me. I'd do it al over again.…
