The owners and staff at Rawisara provided the best service I have ever had at a hotel. They help travelers with local communication, transport, and guidance. They even went on a run with my husband and I to show us the best running routes near the hotel!
The food is consistently excellent and the rooms and pool are top notch. It’s far enough outside the busy city center for true relaxation and easy enough to grab a taxi into the city center when you want.
There’s a temple next door that provides a gentle waking bell in the morning and a real local Thai experience.

We stayed 3 nights here and we really enjoyed the place. Nice connected rooms. Very nice garden and swimming pool. It is completely lost in the middle of nowhere, therefore very difficult to find options for lunch or dinner out of the hotel. No lunch in the hotel and dinner is really expensive. The staff and management of the hotel is adorable !!! We have spent amazing moments with them and they really made a difference... sharing such moments with them has left a footprint in our holidays ! Thank you for this. I definitely recommend this hotel if you look for something quiet and authentic...

We stated in the deluxe suite and couldn't have been happier with our rooms - large, spacious and spotless. Perfect for a family. The pool is also lovely and seems to be empty most of the time. Wifi worked perfectly the whole time we were there. Hotel also arranged a taxi driver for us for a day at a reasonable rate. The only downside is location - at least 20mins drive from the centre. Most tuk tuk drivers have no idea where it is so if you do stay here make sure you take the hotel card with you so the drivers can call for directions (every driver we had needed to call!).

I am not the type of guy who likes to complain but our experience in this hotel was so bad that i have to write about it ....

We spent 2 hours finding the hotel. Taxis and Tuktuk didn't even know where were the hotel ... Finally, one adventurous tuktuk decided to give us a ride (after calling 4 friends to make sure he knew where it was) : he got lost ! The hotel is far from the city and the only way to get to chiang mai is to use their free transfer at 6 am or 1 pm. (Sure you can pay 200 bath for their private cab ... Wich is 5 meals in the city). There are no restaurant in the neighbourhood, so you will have to eat there or send 2 hours every night to go back to the hotel.

We finally arrive at the hotel after 45 minutes driving from chiang mai center ( of course no one knows where the hotels is ...) and then it's time to check in ... A guy is coming out the back office, looks like he just woke up ... No hello, no papers, not a word, he just open the door of our roo and leaves us ... OK ( it is supposed to be a 4 stars right ?)

We wanted to cancel our second night so we asked the guy at the reception. He talked to her manager and told us it was ok : we would just pay for the night. Great ! They understand !! The guy gives me the receipt for the night BUT then the manager changes her mind and tells us we can't cancel due to their policy so we had to pay for the whole nights. It is unprofessionnal to act like this. WE LEFT ANYWAY !!!

We decided not to ##*%%## up our 3 day trip in Chiang mai and booked a room in the Manathai village which was a perfect hotel with great location and service. We left the Rawisara resort with no regrets ...

Nice cosy and not to big resort.
Runned by verry nice people who try to arrange everything to satisfy the custommer.
Nice big rooms verry luxury.
Easy to get too Chiang Mai city by taxi.
In the area is a big shopping mall with several restaurants and a supermarket.
Next to the resort a big temple for those who are interested.
We had a nice stay and feld more than welcome.

Although the hotel is a little far out of Chiang Mai city centre, for this you get a peaceful and tranquil haven and the chance to explore the outskirts of the city. The staff are fantastic, so friendly and helpful. Rooms finished to a high standard and such a nice pool too! Would highly recommend.

Negatives:

The location was A LONG way out of the city centre and they didn't provide adequate shuttle services for this (one at 10.30am and then at 5.30pm). Not one taxi/tuk tuk driver in 5 days knew how to get there, even when provided with a map of its location. When the drivers called the hotel they never had a response (one answer in 5 days of trying).

Breakfast was great on the first day and then after that it was never complete (one day the croissant was missing the next the yoghurt). The location for breakfast was outside and the bugs were awful and the table was crawling with ants.

On day 1 we had an accident on site due to poor maintenance of the pool area. While the staff were quick on hand to help initially there was little follow up. The over night excursion we had planned was canceled due to injury and there was little compensation even though we had to pay for a full extra night ($10 off).

The English spoken by the staff was very limited making it difficult to communicate and have things arranged.

Positives:

The aircon in the room was strong! The bed comfortable and the bathtub was awesome. There was lots of space!

The staff were able to book reservations for dinner upon request.

The driver the hotel order when you need a car (at your expense) was lovely!

The pool was very clean.

Rawisara is far outside of the city, and therefore offers larger rooms, spacious grounds, and a comfortable pool that may be difficult or impossible to find closer to the city center. It is very clean, in good repair, and the staff is friendly. Their truck or jitney will take you into town at any time, for 200 bhat per trip. And the taxi ride back is generally 250 bhat. The one downfall of Rawisara is that the dining area is not screened at all, and there are so many mosquitos that it is impossible to have a relaxing evening meal. Go elsewhere for dinner.

This is a beautiful, peaceful small resort hotel with buildings and gardens in the Thai style that meld perfectly with the temple next door. At night the garden is stunning. We stayed in the grand villa and it was modern, spacious and tastefully decorated with pleasant views of the garden from the sitting room. Free wifi is reliable and fast. The pool is fantastic (small but refreshing and spotlessly clean) and there are plenty of comfortable seating options outside. The free bicycles are in good condition, easy to ride (even for kids) and allowed us to see the neighbourhood and surrounding villages - "real" Chiang Mai. The staff are very helpful, friendly, and accommodating for families (they helped us deal with tour companies that showed up late...) Commuting to and from the old city is not difficult or expensive although may require some negotiation with taxis. Dinner options are limited (it is a small hotel) but the Thai food was tasty. The only major drawback is the breakfast which could be improved in terms of choice and quality.
