We stayed at the mercure for two nights. They gave us a free upgrade on arrival and the room was very comfortable and quiet. The staff are discreet and friendly and are obviously well trained and customer focussed. The hotel location is good for visiting out of town attractions as it is very close to the A 11 and it...

Very good trip. Hospitality was good. Near town, so food and shopping is no problem. Hotel a bit old. Need a coat of paint. Rooms are clean. However there was daily replacement of coffee or tea packets. Can be recommended

The hotel itself is OK, public areas are very clean, the room I stayed in (340) was a good size and also clean. I payed extra to have breakfast included - big mistake. Instant "Nescafe" coffee from a machine, cold food, stale deep fried fritters, sausages and ham floating in some type of liquid and bacon that was over cooked...

Good hotel. Very spacious room. Breakfast wasn't too great. Walking distance (about 15 minutes) to city centre. Near the market with a lot of local foods at night. Next to Muay Thai stadium and Cabaret.

I was there on holidays for three days and I had a good time. Staff was very friendly. Room was wide and very clean. Good choice of European and Asian food for breakfast. It's an easy 10 minutes walk from Old City but in the other hand you have a swiming pool.

We noticed some reviewers complain the Mercure in Chiang Mai does not show the same standard as Mercures in other parts of the world. That might be true but in other parts of the word you have to add maybe USD 100 more as well. The Mercure in Chiang Mai is a very good hotel (though not world class) but...
