We stayed five nights. This is a good hotel. The staff are very polite and attentive, service is excellent. The staff go out of their way to help with any queries.
We were travelling with our ten month old baby, and were given a baby cot and allowed to check in several hours early. This was a really nice touch.
There was very noisy building works going on in the building adjacent to the hotel during our stay. There was also planned maintenance work going on at the hotel. We were not told of this in advance of us arriving. The manager told us that the building works next door should have finished in December, and were running late. He had also been told that the builders would not start work until the afternoon; they started each morning at around nine thirty. Our room was immediately adjacent to the building site, but we were offered a new room the opposite side of the hotel, and a discount on the first few nights when we had been affected. This was hugely appreciated by us.
The rooms are immaculately clean, and well presented with lovely balconies overlooking the pool. Breakfast is excellent and served in the adjacent restaurant (which seems pretty much abandoned at other times of the day). The location is good for most sites being just in the old city. Most good restaurants are a short tuktuk or taxi ride away.
The pool unfortunately is very cold.

My wife and me stayed here during our 4 night trip to Chiang Mai.
Positives:
The rooms are huge with balconies!
The staff and service is impeccable.one of the finest I have experienced!
The breakfast spread is great and they took extra care for us by making a special dish since we are vegetarians
The airport pick up and drop off service is great.

Not so positive:
The hotel feels a little run down.
The location is at the periphery of old town- however, tuk-tuk, cabs and grabs are easily amble 24/7

Chiang Mai was the highlight of our Thailand trip. The Rim was the cherry on top. Located ideally in the Old Town, it’s a stone’s throw from lovely cafés and serene temples. What blew us away the most however was their hospitality. Nothing was too much trouble for the team. The rooms were cleaned impeccably and there were little gestures which left an impression, like rolling up all our charging cables neatly which we’ve never bothered to do ourselves. I loved that instead of peddling their own services, they quickly guided us to the nearest laundry service when we asked them - not just guided them, they left the reception and went to the laundry shop and kept waiting there for 5 minutes till somebody responded.
On our son’s birthday they sent up a cake and some mango sticky rice - I still don’t know how they knew it was his birthday! Very thoughtful and sweet of them.
Highly recommend the Rim resort. We stayed in the Junior suite which was huge and extremely comfortable. And oh, hands down the best beds I’ve slept on in all my vacations!

We absolutely loved this and it was the favourite hotel or our 8-hotel south east Asia trip. The pool area was just lovely with stone fountains and a good size for the number of guests with such a tranquil atmosphere. The other guests were also well mannered and quiet even being new years, which is often not the case and there were no loud children. The rooms are beautiful and large with lots of amenities and lovely dark wood in tbe authentic Lanna style which we loved. We got a fantastic night sleep. The hotel is just beautiful and big enough to feel spacious but small enough to feel lovely and personal. We stayed over new years and like for many hotels there was a compulsory gala dinner. We were hesitant to know what this would be but it was absolutely amazing, with introductory drinks and an hors d'oeuvres around the pool complete with a gift given based on what little paper you choose from a beautifully decorated tree. There was then an amazing 4 courses and on Going and highly impressive performances through the evening including classical thai dancers who were gorgeous and talented and a muay thai mock- fight which was amazing and showed acrobatic skill! We all got champagne to toast the new year too, superbly done.

We wanted a hotel near the temples and wonderful night markets that pepper the old city, and The Rim Resort on Arak Road was the perfect spot for us.

Our family had just finished a number of temple tours at the Angkor Archaeological Park in neighboring Cambodia, and were staying in Chiang Mai for a brief respite before moving on to Phuket. The Rim Resort is a lovely boutique hotel on the Old City's western edge, and within a reasonable walking distance of several temples, markets and various eateries.

The rooms were quite comfortable, and overlooked the central courtyard and pool. Daily breakfast at the Canal Restaurant on premises was included, and the front desk was very helpful if you needed to arrange a Tuk-tuk ride or taxi, but the convenient location of The Rim allowed us to explore many of the nearby sites on our own.

A number of my friends are planning trips to Thailand in the near future, and I have already recommended this hotel for their consideration.

The hotel locates at great location, less than 15 mins from the airport, close to small shops and restaurants. Anyhow, we ate at the hotel many times. Surprisingly, the hotel’s restaurant has good food & coffee!!!! Our room was spacious and clean. We liked the Thai Northern architecture. We chilled out by the pool while kids enjoyed fun activities the hotel organized in the afternoon. The staffs were so friendly and helpful. We will definitely come back.

Me, my wife and my 9 y.old stayed in Rim just before Xmas time for 5 nights. Rim Resort is a lovely place to stay, quite and comfortable, tipical Thai style, and I love it. Rooms are so nice as the outside, pool are nice too and the people there are really kind as expected from thai people. Rim is not far from the down town, 15 min walks, but tuc-tuc are always availables for a ride.
For sure for the next trip in Chiang Mai I'll choose the Rim resort.

We had an amazing experience at The Rim. Airport transportation was provided as well as a HUGE breakfast! We loved the location in Old Town. It was walking distances to most places we visited. The pool was freezing in November, but it was nice to lounge around and have a drink or 2 in the afternoon. The front desk staff was also very helpful. We did lose power one afternoon, but it was not a problem because we spent most of our time in Chiang Mai exploring. I would recommend and also stay here again. If we did it again we would probably stay 2-3 nights here and then 2-3 nights in a different area of town.

We stayed here a few nights while visiting Chiang Mai.

Location: the hotel is located quite good as you are just at "the rim" of the city centre. :P
Easy to get away from the centre by car (calling a local songthaew or grabcar) but also easy to get to the city centre by foot. It was perfect for us.

Room: we had a room on ground floor right by the pool which was quite cool as you can see the inner courtyard with pool from your balcony. The room itself was quite big and the bathroom was spacious with a big bathtub and shower.

Service: the staff is very friendly and helpfull. The breakfast is very good: a lot op options and they offer you eggs however you want them every morning. The coffee is also quite good.

The only downside was the fact that the restaurant was only used for breakfast. It was closed for lunch or diner when we were there.

My family and I stayed at the rim resort over the recent Chinese New Year holidays and had a great time. The hotel was quaint and really green, with comfortable beds, complimentary airport shuttle and daily afternoon canapés by the pool. The standout was the service of the staff there, from the front desk to the restaurant team. Everyone we met delivered famtastic service and classic thai hospitality.
