This rustic little slice of paradise is a perfect refuge from the busyness of downtown Chiang Mai. Located a block from the most magnificent temple in the city, and in the heart of the "old town" this is a special place. It is special mostly because of the owners and staff. There are only a few rooms and each is...

My Husband and I visited BaanBooLOo for three nights during our honeymoon and it was an experience to remember. We had the tree house accommodation and lavished our time in the tub and canopied bed. Orn and the rest of the team were exceptionally helpful and the food was amazing! Our last night at BaanBooLOo Orn made us the most...

We stayed for 4 nights in July 2012. The room was beautiful, we loved the outdoor shower/ bath. We were made very welcome by Orn and the other staff throughout our stay - it was lovely to be told "welcome home" when we arrived back each day. Definitely the only hotel I've ever hugged the staff before leaving! Be sure...

Such a wonderful traditional stay, just what we wanted to experience! We had a 2-storey room. So fun to climb the steps, enjoyed sitting on the steps and taking photos! Our room was clean and comfortable. Enjoyed soaking in the bath tub! Breakfast was wonderful. We got to sample traditional thai corn, custard filled bun. Loved the freshly brewed coffee!...

We stayed for 3 nights in early December 2012. The owner, Orn, was very hospitable and sweet. Our room was clean and comfortable and very charming. I will definitely recommend this Baan to everyone traveling to Chiang Mai and I will 100% stay here again on my next return trip.

We had a wonderful experience at Baan Boo Loo. Orn and the rest of the staff are so hospitable and warm. Whenever we came back to the guesthouse after a day of sightseeing or wandering the town, we were greeted with smiles and asked about our day. It felt like coming home! We really enjoyed the breakfasts each morning... they...

My husband and I came here for our honeymoon because we wanted more of a traditional experience. It was the best choice we made on our whole trip! Orn and her staff were phenomenal at making us feel welcome. She was aware it was our honeymoon so she made it a point to leave roses in our room for us...

Immersed in the middle of a beautiful garden, perfectly located in the heart of Chiang Mai, Baan BooLOo is a place I've been looking for. The rooms are spacious and clean. The place itself is very quiet and peaceful which has been a wonderful change after big hotels with 100+ rooms and staff's fake smiles. It gives one pretty homey...

Dear Guest We did not get chance to meet however, many, many thanks for staying at and recommending BaanBooLOo. We truly value your comments. We apologise for the points you mention and confirm various improvements are now in place. In fairness to our staff, we understand they rushed to serve breakfast for you daily before the normal kitchen opening hours...

We stayed at Baan Boo Loo twice on our visit to Thailand. The first time we stayed in the Baan Khao room, which is on an elevated platform and open air. It was like a very nice adult tree house. In the hotest season it might be a little warm for some people since there is no air conditioning. The...

Five family members took a whole lovely floor of 3 rooms upstairs in one of the teak houses. It was perfect for us, tropical outdoor showers and bath set in a lovely green garden. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A unique small Thai country village style guesthouse with surrounding wooden villas, hammocks, country garden, outdoor lounges with lots of arts and wood carvings. Visitors should be aware that this is a very natural setting. There are many kinds of creatures in the gardens Some bathrooms are semi open air and mosquitos are omnipresent as in the most part of Chiang Mai. We use mosquito netting in bedrooms as well as using air-conditioning, fans and mosquito repellents and creams free of charge. Guests are advised to wear loose fitting clothing with long sleeves and leg coverings in the early mornings and early evenings or to use a good strength anti mosquito spray. Sunny daytimes are mostly mosquito free. Hard to believe but BaanBooLOo Village seems completely cut off from the noise of the city centre yet is only 15 minutes from Chiang Mai International Airport. It is without question the quietest location in all of central Chiang Mai. We are in the central historic Old City Inner Moat area just 5 minutes walk from the major landmark Wat Pra Singh temple known by all in Chiang Mai. We provide a comprehensive and hearty Thai and International breakfast from 7am until 10am. We do cater for early start breakfasts and special dietary needs. Guests are recommended to discuss any special needs upon check-in. We have a quiet policy after 10pm as these are wooden houses and respect for neighbours is paramount. We also have an outdoor late lounge area with music and drinks until around midnight which is separate from guest rooms to avoid sleep disturbance. There are late night bars, jazz club and eateries all within 20 minutes walk or a short tuk tuk ride for around 100 baht. Most venues are open until around 1am. A handful are open until the early hours. Our concierge service includes helping guests to plan activities/spas/trekking plus advice on events in and around the city. This service is impartial and is included in the room charge. We would never recommend tourist service companies with animal cruelty reputations. BaanBooLOo Village is a 'green' environmentally friendly organisation evolving gradually. Our long term goal is to create a green oasis in the form of a living museum in the historic old city walls. ... more   less
