If you want to stay in an authentic wooden Thai house, BaanBooLOo fits the bill. There is however a trade off between tradition and modern amenities. The room itself is ok with aircon and double bed but not all windows can be covered so there will be light. The toilet and bathroom are very open and outside. I found the...

Dear Guest Thank you so much for your helpful review. We appreciate your advice for travellers and we admit BaanBooLOo is not for everyone. The environment is something like a village in the hills and is not a city style hotel, even though next to Wat Pra Singh, BaanBooLOo is incredibly central. Yes we have pebbles not concrete, some paths...

Baan Boo Loo is a beautiful hotel in a quiet street of Chiang Mai, but still central (right next to Wat Phra Singh), which is great. The way they welcomed us was amazing: The owner (I am not sure how to write it, but we called him Adi) gave us a map and explained us a lot of things about...

An amazing authentic group of apartments, nothing like any hotel, worth the money. A stunning step back in time, culture, tastes and care. Located in old town, easy walk to temples. Stay if you can for 3 nights if you can.

If you are looking for family friendly accommodation in old Chiang Mai this is the place to stay. The accommodation added to the Chiang Mai experience with the quaint, large clean rooms and verandahs to relax on in lush surroundings plus it is well away from the touristy area of the old city. The breakfast buffet is better and healthier...

What an amazing experience we had in this beautiful, traditional, unique Northern Thai-style guest house in a very quiet soi, close to major temples within the old city. We loved the Jim Thompson's house feel of it, the peaceful garden, the homemade breakfast and the incredible kindness of Addi and Louis who went above and beyond to help us make...

What a find! The staff are so friendly, welcoming and helpful - made me feel like family. The grounds and the room itself were beautiful, with fantastic antiques and striking textiles. The bed was comfy, the breakfast delicious, the aircon worked well and the jars of snacks were most appreciated! I enjoyed my stay very much and look forward to...

It is a nice place to stay in. Very quiet neighbourhood. The Banbolo feels like living in tree house with nice showers and stuff. There was no TV which was a little sad but I guess tv doesn't go with the hotels theme.

BaanBooLOo is by are one the best places I have stayed. It is within my top 5 hotels. The place rustic bohemian combined with all the right amities. Addy and Louie are amazing hosts. The grounds are beautifully designed, the food is amazing, the wine flows, and our stay was amazing. I look forward to our next trip

Amazing stay. Addi & everyone was so incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make you feel at home. Fantastic breakfast with fresh fruit, juices, coffee, breads & jams plus a few hot dishes each morning. Our treehouse loft was beautiful with tons of space, an outdoor bathroom. Location was also great - quieter part in the old...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A unique small Thai country village style guesthouse with surrounding wooden villas, hammocks, country garden, outdoor lounges with lots of arts and wood carvings. Visitors should be aware that this is a very natural setting. There are many kinds of creatures in the gardens Some bathrooms are semi open air and mosquitos are omnipresent as in the most part of Chiang Mai. We use mosquito netting in bedrooms as well as using air-conditioning, fans and mosquito repellents and creams free of charge. Guests are advised to wear loose fitting clothing with long sleeves and leg coverings in the early mornings and early evenings or to use a good strength anti mosquito spray. Sunny daytimes are mostly mosquito free. Hard to believe but BaanBooLOo Village seems completely cut off from the noise of the city centre yet is only 15 minutes from Chiang Mai International Airport. It is without question the quietest location in all of central Chiang Mai. We are in the central historic Old City Inner Moat area just 5 minutes walk from the major landmark Wat Pra Singh temple known by all in Chiang Mai. We provide a comprehensive and hearty Thai and International breakfast from 7am until 10am. We do cater for early start breakfasts and special dietary needs. Guests are recommended to discuss any special needs upon check-in. We have a quiet policy after 10pm as these are wooden houses and respect for neighbours is paramount. We also have an outdoor late lounge area with music and drinks until around midnight which is separate from guest rooms to avoid sleep disturbance. There are late night bars, jazz club and eateries all within 20 minutes walk or a short tuk tuk ride for around 100 baht. Most venues are open until around 1am. A handful are open until the early hours. Our concierge service includes helping guests to plan activities/spas/trekking plus advice on events in and around the city. This service is impartial and is included in the room charge. We would never recommend tourist service companies with animal cruelty reputations. BaanBooLOo Village is a 'green' environmentally friendly organisation evolving gradually. Our long term goal is to create a green oasis in the form of a living museum in the historic old city walls. ... more   less
