We spent a lovely afternoon at the pool here. The area was well-kept, pool was cleaned twice while we were there (removing the leaves and flowers that fall in from the overhanging trees). This must be the most beautiful hotel pool in Chiang Mai: a meandering oasis, with low overhanging trees and lush vegetation. Little islands in the middle with private sun-loungers round it off perfectly. Pool bar staff very professional and friendly. Great menu choice here, both for drinks and bites, loved it! Will be back for sure!

This hotel was beautifully designed with the garden surrounds. Room was clean, spacious and welcoming. Loved the pool access room, made it easy to access the pool, which was big and made you feel you had it to yourself. Swim up bar was great. Location was not ideal if you wanted to be in the city, although they did run a shuttle bus to the night markets which was good. This was the second stop on our honeymoon and we loved the hotel. Food was good too ate breakfast here every morning, and had dinner one night also.

After a hectic few days in Bangkok we arrived at this lovely traditional style hotel for 3 nights. The pool is huge and when we arrived we asked to be upgraded to a pool room. It was great to have direct access to the pool for a really reasonable price. Although because it’s so big and shaded by the lovely trees it is a bit chilly!

Unfortunately we had a bit of an incident on our first night but the management dealt with it so well. We ended up moving into one of the spa rooms which was unbelievable! The four poster bed was huge, there were two massage tables in a separate room, a steam room in the shower and an outdoor jacuzzi bath.

As it was Valentine’s Day whilst we were there we treated ourselves to a couples massage in the room. As others have mentioned the spa treatments are a lot more expensive than the ones you can get in town but as a treat it was nice. We ate at the hotel a couple of times, the breakfast was fine but the lunches were great. It takes about 15 minutes to get into town in a taxi or tuk tuk and costs about 200 baht. We had an amazing time there.

The rooms aren’t cleaned very well even walking in the floor was dirty doors were left open so mosquitoes were everywhere already. And even around the room just overall not clean. No pool towels and housekeeping never changed the towels or cleaned the room properly. The pool is nice but they only run the fountains on the weekend. For the price in Thailand and it being out of the city overall it is not worth it. Takes about 25 minutes to get to old chiang Mai. Also I was woken up at 6 everyday by some loud noise maybe a water pump.

Stayed between 2/16 and 2/19. We stayed in the deluxe room with the pool right off our balcony. Very romantic decor. The whole resort had a tranquil zen like atmosphere. The resort itself resembled a temple upon arrival. The staff was wonderful. Pleasant and helpful. Food and drinks were excellent. It was not as close to the markets but we downloaded the Grab app and saved money on rides everywhere. I would definitely go back!!!!

Khum Phaya Resort & Spa is a lovely Lana village at the outskirt of Old Chiangmai city. If you book the ground floor pool facing rooms, you can jump straight into the pool from your balcony! I highly recommend a treatment or massage at the relaxing spa. Their therapist are professional and well trained and we went back again after our first visit! The location is only 15-20 mins from most Chiangmai city attractions and eateries.
The resort is suitable for both couples and family

The hotel itself is very pretty with a nice pool and friendly staff.
However there are a couple of issues which we found very poor whilst we were there

1. You sit in the restaurant and bar having a drink from the price list but when you go to settle your bill when you leave you have been charged 7% tax and 10% service charge even though your staying at the hotel which is pretty poor in our opinion.

2. There is complimentary water in your room however this only applies to the white cap bottles, the blue cap bottles which look exactly the same and are also in your fridge you have to pay for again on checkout. It is not stated anywhere that you have to pay for blue tops.

3. The air conditioning in our room stopped working with 4 days to go and despite reporting it to reception several times it failed to be mended by the time we checked out, again very poor especially given the heat at the time.

Would we stay there again very unlikely due to the points above

Attractive building away from the main road, nice garden and pool, quick check-in. Spacious room with wifi and kettle, balcony. Negatives - food is very expensive compared to the cafes outside, people making noise late into night with hotel making no attempt to control, smoking from balconies drifts down to the pool. Overall a good choice, about 10-15mins by taxi from old town. There is a tourist show outside (i think not connected) you can wander into and watch

It’s hard to fault this hotel. The staff are brilliant, welcoming, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel grounds are beautifully designed and we loved the lagoon style swimming pool. There is a free shuttle bus into central Chiang Mai (about 10 mins) every evening and would recommend the Saturday and Sunday walking markets and the Night Bazaar. Overall a great stay :)

Lovely hotel - an oasis in business area. Very pretty setting in its own grounds with a pool and restaurant on site. The rooms were well kept and had their own balcony overlooking the pool. We ate in the hotel each night where the food and service was very good. A suttle bus is provided to visit the town but you need a red bus or taxi to return - plenty of these to be had. We also enjoyed a visit to the Spa for a welcome foot and leg massage after a lot of walking!

Yes there are. We stayed at the hotel back in August and used Kanta Elephant Sanctuary for our trip. They picked us up from the hotel and dropped us back there without any problems. Although the hotel is a little way out of the main centre, it's not that far. We had a great trip with Kanta (2 adults and 2 children age 9 and 15) and would recommend them. We also paid online for the trip which I was a little worried about but it worked fine.

The Lana rooms are every large and do have a sofa bed. The poolside rooms are really only for two.
