We had an amazing stay at Tanita house. I would recommend it to anyone. It’s a real oasis well located in Chiang Mai. The staff was really friendly and helpful. Fresh fruits, bacon and eggs in the morning. Rooms were beautiful, clean and comfortable.

I visited Tanita House in December 2023 with my boyfriend during our 4 nights in Chiang Mai. The cabin we were placed in was clean, private, and spacious. Tanita House is perfect for a couple, family, or small group looking for a mellow place to retreat to outside of the old town. It was about a 10 min walk for central Old Town, but the walk was pleasant and totally doable several times a day. The common space at Tanita House was an interesting, clean, and welcoming place to spend time reading and having breakfast. Our host was incredibly warm, professional, and made a killer granola from scratch that was available every morning! Our host helped organize transportation and gave good advice for activities during the day. Tanita House was the perfect home base in Chiang Mai!

Aor at Tanita house made our stay very special, a home away from home! We stayed here before and after a bike packing trip around northern Thailand. The family heritage and pride in the property showed everywhere you looked. The ambiance of the property was a welcome break from the busy city streets.

We spent four days at Tanita House in Chiang Mai and loved it here. There is a lush tropical garden, so it feels way cooler and more relaxing than the rest of bustling Chiang Mai. The owner is super nice and gave us lots of tips concerning markets, treks and things to do. It‘s all within walking distance (if you are used to walking). Next time in Chiang Mai we will definitely stay here again :)

Such a lovely hostel just around the corner of the city center. It’s so close to everything, yet so calm as the cottages are in a beautiful garden. Very clean and comfortable. We lived in a private cottage, and had our own bathroom which was amazing. The included breakfast was delicious, and this all together with probably the best host ever made this a wonderful stay. Will definitely come back, and recommend you to go as well!

Located well outside of the city center, this lovely little guest house was a perfect choice for our five nights in Chiang Mai. Room: we had a two-person cabin and it was just perfect. Lots of character: it is a renovated 19th century food storage space. The size was quite adequate: unlike in many places the pictures represent the room well. The furnishing and decor was simple but classy. The shower was average: soap was provided when requested. Outlets were convenient and WiFi worked well. Food: the western breakfast is good: granola, fruit, yogurt, eggs, bacon and toast are all available. The onsite coffee shop has a limited but delicious food menu and the coffee drink I had was awesome. Note that they close at 6:00. Location: the property is on a busy road, which is not that attractive, but is set back far enough you would have no idea the road is there. To get to the city center we used Grab, which was unfailingly cheap and easy. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, and the nearby Warorot market becomes a foodie's paradise after about 5:00. Note that the property itself is a highlight; old teak buildings set on impeccably landscape grounds. Hospitality: the owner, Aor, is an absolute delight. She is warm, friendly and an engaging conversationalist. The eating area has an impressive collection of her grandparent's artifacts, some of which are for sale. Finally, I would consider this place an outstanding value for the money. I would have considered twice what I paid to be reasonable.

I can't say enough good things about this place. Unique, historical, friendly, quiet, amazing food, convenient location... Aon is an amazing and super friendly host. She loved to talk to the guests and we had fun learning Thai from her. There was a mix-up with one of the tours we booked from an outside provider and Aon and her family helped us get it sorted. The location is GORGEOUS. It has been in her family for four generations and all the buildings are made of original teak. It is truly an authentic experience with modern amenities (like AC). As a super light sleeper (and I really can't emphasize this enough, I am stupidly sensitive), I slept amazing as it was quiet and dark. The mattresses are rather firm, however, I found that to be true of every place i stayed in Thailand including luxury resorts in Phuket. The on-site restaurant served amazing food. I genuinely still crave a smoothie and meal from there. The grounds are lush with orchids growing naturally. Take a gander through the antique shop, you never know what treasure might catch your eye. When I go back to Chiang Mai, this will be the first place I look to book. It was my favourite stay in all of Thailand (including the aforementioned luxury resort in Phuket) and would be the only place I want to go back to.

Tanita House is a gem in all respects. I have had the great opportunity to stay at this oasis multiple times these past years and would not stay anywhere else in Chiang Mai. Aor and her sister Pon and their family have become like family to my family. They have sooo much heart and are the most superb of caring and kind hosts. Mere words cannot express...

The host was the most welcoming Person we have ever met. She really made us feel at home and was always considerate and helpful when it came to planning our sightseeing trip! The breakfast she prepared for us every day was delicious and filling. Furthermore the Tanita Coffee House also served very delicious food, perfect for preparing before a trip! We would really recommend this place because it's also near to a lot of interesting and beautiful sights.
