Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This hotel is cheap with an excellent location near Warorot Market and plenty of good transport connections. That is all that is good. The interior looks like a prison. The aircon was leaking. The towels were stained and made me itch days after leaving. Probably the worst hotel I have stayed in Thailand.

The location is very good, it's 80 meters from one of the most famous noodle shops in the North (40 THB). Maid service is excellent. Linen service is delivered, every day..some towels are old, but they have been washed. 9 USD a night? But you will read a lot of complaints from malcontents...take with a grain of salt..."they didn't provide toothpaste" or a first timer complaining about their English....they've rented rooms to 100,000 foreigners, they know what they are doing. I would take this hotel over a guest house any day of the week...because you have so much better security here. Guests are welcome to your room, just don't be too loud.

Room has old style tv, table, and chair. Place is showing its age. Some furniture needs to be replaced. Some staff were friendly, others not. There are two stereo speaker stores down the street. They sometimes blast music in the morning and afternoon for short periods of time. I'm sure others in the area hear it. The biggest problem is wifi. Signal is poor and disappears anytime. Signal is bad in the whole hotel, including the lobby. It makes it difficult to research and book things. The room is okay, but wifi ruins things. Someone wrote a review about doing laundry at the hotel and having a bad experience. There are many laundry shops towards and in the old part of the city. They start at 30 baht per kilo.

We booked this hotel just to stay 2 nights somewhere cheap. We didn't expect fancy furniture or whatsoever, we just wanted to have a place to sleep before moving on. Pictures this company uses to advertise itself also looked OK. When we got the keys to our room, first thing that greeted us was VERY stinky air, it was clearly a smokers room. Then I noticed that pillowcase looked yellow and had some bloody spots on it.. First i thought like - OK, Im not going to sleep with a pillow, this blanket looks fine enough.. But then I saw bloody boogers on cupboard and on a wall. Like why the hell would there be boogers on a cleaned white furniture? Bath towels also looked yellow, like they have been already used. Like that wouldn't be enough, there was also dust and hair on the floor. Bathroom looks very old and rusty and in some mystical reason our potty was covered with water. Like someone has been washing it with shower but haven't bothered to dry it up. We stayed in this room for 20 minutes, just to find and book next hotel. We dropped keys to reception and said that this is the worst hotel we evert stayed and it is really dirty. Receptionist didn't even ask what was wrong with the room and just apologized for dirty room and said that there are no refunds. Whatever. Pay few dollars more and get much much better place.

One of the cheapest hotels in chiang Mai with air conditioning, tv, wifi, hot water, fridge in the room. Excellent for the little money it costs. The location is not the best, a long walk to the city center. You should probably rent a bike to move around if you stay here. They say they have breakfast but they don't, just some coffee on a table in the lobby. Great pick for budget travelers.

I have been coming to this hotel for years now. It is very good value, close to Wororot market, where I can buy meals and food to eat in my room. The rooms are adequate, cleaned every day, fresh sheets and towels every day. The wifi is not so good but works. There is a fridge in every room, and television. All rooms have ensuite shower or shower/bath. Open 24/7, no problem checking in at any time. However, I have noticed over the years that the rooms are getting more and more run down. This time my air con didn't work overnight after arriving late and I found next morning a flood of water on the floor near the bathroom. However I was given another room immediately I told them. Breakfast has disappeared from the list of amenities since I last came too, although it was never much to write home about. Nevertheless I will still continue to come here as it is so cheap and convenient - what do you expect for £7 a night for a single traveller? For me it is good value. Near the English shop too, which is a plus if you like to get anything to eat or drink which resembles good English baking! Yummy carrot cake and cinnamon buns, croissants, quiche! A change from Thai food. Good Thai cheap restaurant opposite too.... Recommend this hotel. Cheap and cheerful.

Now that I've been traveling in SE Asia I know that the treatment I received at this hotel by the receptionist is not acceptable. I was a brand new traveler at the time and didn't realize that her(his) attitude was not normal - rude is rude. I also was given two rooms and both had badly leaking a/c units, the first also included a large cockroach free of charge.. The maids here were very good, but the "porter" was meh. It is a five-minute walk to the Day Market and there are very good places to eat nearby. The price at the time was only $7 per night so it was hard to pass up. Do not have your laundry done here - it is extremely expensive - $.50 for a pair of socks. After I was quoted a price I asked for my clothes back but the "receptionist" would not give them back - instead she gave me a very minor discount. Getting angry didn't help. I gave up.

I know this is a budget hotel, but it was probably one of the grimiest hotels or hostels I've ever stayed in, and that's saying something! The bathroom didn't seem like it had been cleaned at all. The wifi didn't work once. We were on the 4th floor. Maybe it's better on other floors. The towels were very dingy and had blood stains on them. My suggestion is to find one of the many other budget hotels in chiang Mai and stay there!

i stayed 4 night in this hotel in september. the location was very good.cleanliness of the room and the place was adequate although the hotel was a run down place. the towels they gave was very old and some were torn. there was no restaurant in the hotel but a fridge to sell some canned drinks. the reception was fairly friendly. the good thing about the hotel were the location and the cheap price, the bad things were torn towel the run down rooms and environment.

this hotel is not located right where you need to be but is only a short walk from central chiang mai. mitrapap is very cheap and considering that fact it is still clean and seems relatively secure. chiang mai is an amazing place and this is the perfect budget option to explore the city.
