All of our houses are made from teak wood. The furniture and accessories have been carefully and lovingly handcrafted in an antique style. Our resort is called the “Granary Resort” because our houses are built in the authentic Lanna style of old rice granaries (storehouse). In the Thai language this style is called “Lhong-khao” or “Yung-khao”. These two story houses are our guestrooms and are our way of keeping alive the beauty of our Lanna architectural heritage.

I came to Thailand to experience Thailand- Thai culture and learn about Thai history. After the hustle and bustle of Bangkok- i wanted a relaxing stay in Chiang Mai. The Granary provided all this and more. Set a little outside the main area of Chiang Mai, its still very accessible to all the action as a Grab to the city costed around 140 thb on average. Okay now lets talk about the setting and the room- the resort area is lovingly taken care of and upkept daily and it sits right on the edge of the river. The evening views are spectacular and the rooms themselves - with the semi outdoor shower, indoor bathroom with a tub and wooded and refined furniture feels like something out of a movie. There are so many places to relax around the property- if i were to host a retreat or a wedding, in Thailand, this is where id do it. And yet- i was a solo female traveler and this felt comfy and safe and just right for me. The manager Num was amazingly kind, attentive and thoughtful and the onsite chef cooked up delicious Northern Thai cuisine when i was there at night. Do yourself a favor and stay here!

Amazing little resort on the Ping River just a short (and cheap!) grab taxi ride away from town. You're in your own little cottage set in beautiful gardens with towering tropical trees, manicured lawns, flowering bushes with fluttering butterflies. The hosts are wonderful and the breakfasts were yummy (Both local and western.) Our cottage was right above the banks of the Ping River. It felt like we were a million miles away from everything, and we had a view of the hills also. Wow !! We stayed here for one week, and then tried an expensive resort in the city. We were really disappointed in the expensive resort in the city and next time we come back, we will only stay at The Granary Resort for the entire time. I don't think I'd stay any where else in Chiang Mai.

We had a wonderful five night stay at this resort. The tropical gardens and setting for the teak Thai style buildings absolutely exotic. The location is 6 km from the old city of changing my and a cheap grab ride into the city. We slept incredibly well the whole time here because of the peace full nature of the place. The daily breakfast was beautifully presented with a choice of either Thai or western style breakfast. Due to the location of the resorts, we feel it may have benefited from a free and regular shuttle service into the city from the resort several times a day. We would certainly stay here again and recommend it to others if relaxation is important and a non-central location.

Do not book a hotel in the city. Choose The Granary Resort. Great place, atmosphere and sounds like in the jungle. Beautiful wooden houses on the bales. A lot of greenery, nice pool. You can really relax. Take the Grab Taxi to the city. 100 THB. 15 min. Next to the hotel is a laundry and a local restaurant. Very local :) Generally absolutely magical place. Highly recommended

Our experience was amazing. Being rainy season (with barely any rain) we were the only customers. We had breakfast daily on our balcony overlooking the pool. The property gardens are so beautiful you couldn't help but spend days relaxing by the pool listening to the sounds of the rainforest. The villa was spacious, clean and unique. I love the outdoor shower and furnishings. The staff were always friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Noom who took care of our every need including many trips into town for meals or activities.

We stayed 10 days in this beautiful Ping River resort. The bungalows are typical Thai houses and are furnished with local decor. Super quiet except for the morning local roosters that tends to make you aware that you should wake up. After a couple of days you don;t even hear them anymore. The service is impeccable and the hotel staff has helped us in any way they could. I would strongly recommend this resort and would gladly return.

We spent 10 night in The Granary, with a booking of 3 bungalows and this was a very nice stay. The hotel and the bungalows are really designed in a way to feel relaxed, and at peace. I really recommend this place for couples and families with little kids (even if the swimming pool water was very cold!!)
