Was greeted right at the door by two lovely thai women, they speak good english and helped us check in. Me and my partner were quite exhausted after a 10 hour sleeper train from chiang mai so they advised once we've freshened up/napped. To come see them and they would show us all of the wonderful things to do in...

Visited Chiang Mai, Banilah as our second destination as part of our backpacking trip across Asia in June 2016 Location: Located in a semi-quiet area of Chiang Mai surrounded by various connivance's such as pharmacies, Tesco lotus, laundry facilities and the all important 7/11. A short 15 minutes walk away from the gorgeous 'Maya lifestyle shopping center' and the various...

We have been travelling for over 2 month now, and have not yet visited a place as great as this one! We stayed here for 4 or 5 nights. The rooms are lovely, cosy and clean. Best thing about this place is with no doubt the staff. They are so nice and helpfull. The location couldn't be better. I will...

A good hostel completely runt by woman. The location is just outside the old city centre 10 minutes by bike (which they provide for free). The staff is very kind and helpful as well, they show the secrets of the neighborhood regarding good food. The reception is not 24/7 open but with every question the will help (getting a cab...

As a young solo traveller I was worrying a little about where to stay in a new city. Hostel? Hotel? Guesthouse? I settled on banilah, and overall I am glad I did. I had a private room, and the staff was incredibly nice and helpful! They really went above and beyond to help out their guests and I really appreciated...

I stayed in this hotel for a couple of nights. The lady at the reception was really very helpful and gave lots of tips and explained how to get around the city. She also booked day trips and called for taxis. The room was big and clean but the my bathroom was at the balcony which didn't bother me much....

My first time staying at Banilah was last January/February/March. It's so fantastic -- at this price point -- that I recommend it in my article on Chiang Mai for Bicycling Magazine. I'm a travel writer so I've stayed at hundreds of properties and Banilah has a very special place in my memory and heart. The staff are not just pleasant,...

I stayed at Banilah for about a month while I took Thai Massage courses and traveled around Chiang Mai. I cannot say enough about the staff here. They were warm, welcoming and ever helpful. When I arrived they greeted me warmly and provided local maps. They took the time to sit down with me and go over where to find...

I had the best host experience in my life. The owner quietly explained at our arrival a map carefully indicated at the moment with different colors for different tasks. She was all the time worried about our stay. She provided free bikes, free umbrellas, free raincoats and rent of motorbikes at very competitive prices. She and her cats are adorable....
