We booked a long weekend in Chiang Mai to celebrate the American Fourth of July Independence Day holiday. We wanted a place close to the River Market as that is where the main celebration would be held on Saturday. This hotel was a 30 second walk from the Night Bazaar and a five minute walk to the River Market.
The CMNBH (abbreviating here for simplicity) is a quaint hotel that is for all intents and purposes connected to the Night Bazaar. You walk out the front door turn right and walk 10 meters and you are there. CMNBH is a 15 minute drive from CNX airport. A taxi will cost you 160 baht ($4.75 USD).
We had a room on the 4th floor with a king size bed BUT (you knew it was coming) it was built low to the floor and unfortunately the mattress was shot. It was very uncomfortable. There were 2 chairs on swivels made in a semi-circular design and not conducive to prolonged use even with cushions. There was issues with figuring out the lighting and one we never found the switch for and unscrewed the bulb.
The cocktail table had to double as a luggage stand as there was none. The room had a type of credenza that had your snacks, notes from the hotel and room service menu. There was a rolling stool with a padded top for what I don't know. There was a second one at the vanity so we know a use for one anyway. There is a slatted sliding door as sort of a privacy curtain to the bath, a small closet with same slatted door and slippers for you to use if you chose. The flat screen TV was a nice addition and worked.
The bathroom was small but functional. Due to design issues you have to keep your toiletries in the main room and go back and forth. No hot water to the sink. There were the usual amenities of toothbrushes, soap, shampoo, etc. The toilet was not sealed well. I leaked along one side allowing for some malodorous emissions to escape that the exhaust fan could not completely evacuate.
The shower area was small with some wasted space that could not be utilized. There was a heat exchanger which provided a hot shower but the "rain" type shower head is not to my liking but it did allow me to shower well.
Proprietors of this hotel did have some foresight to install motion sensor floor lighting to allow you to see where you are going in the low light hallway. The lift worked but at one scraped the wall every time you used it. There was a glass front cooler in the lobby full of cold drinks, water, beer, etc but was kept locked so you could not just grab and go.
The restaurant was small but adequate. Breakfast was part of the room rate but was nothing special. Mostly Thai food reigned with pre-cooked sunny side eggs more resembling hockey pucks than eggs. There were some pork sausages (read hot dogs) and white and brown bread for toast. There was a small selection of fruit an even smaller selection of juices and coffee or tea.
All things considered this was an OK hotel for the cost ($100 USD for 3 nights) but if you have a better budget, go with a better hotel. I would stay here again if no other options were available. Frankly the superior room was sorely just average at best.

We booked twin rooms on the ground floor for 2 nights. Price THB 600 per night. The Night Bazaar is less than a stone's throw away, it's practically at the doorstep! Chain eateries e.g. McD, Starbucks are all walking distance from the hotel. The eateries around the hotel are very international, which includes halal food.
The rooms are clean, beds comfortable. The cable TV has many English-language channels to choose from. 2 bottles of drinking water are provided for free. There is also a mini bar. The toilet is designed as a wet toilet so slippers are provided. The water from the shower heater is easily controllable. In our rooms, the dressing table mirror faced directly toward the bed. For those who are superstitious, the beds have wheels so you can roll them to face a different direction. Seems petty, but the superstitious have been forewarned! Towels and face towels are provided and are changed daily. The rooms are made daily, too.
The downside to this hotel is that, currently, there are renovations to the kitchen/restaurant. During waking hours, approximately 830am onwards, there would be some noise. But this is not a problem as Chiang Mai is a place where one would normally go out to explore during the day time. No frets about the hotel kitchen being closed, breakfast is easily available from local shops around the Night Bazaar area. Aside from the lobby area opposite the reception desk, there is no place to just chill and hang out since the restaurant is closed.
The airport is 15 minutes away with no traffic. Taxi costs THB 150 to the airport.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel for its strategic location and reasonable price. The Night Bazaar is the nightlife in this area so one would not get bored easily.

The level of care and service from the staff is incredible. They made me feel like I was staying with a family. I was not expecting this level of care at a budget hotel. Perfect English, kindness, and willing to help with everything I needed. I was really blown away. The room, the bed, the bathroom, windows, everything you would expect at a budget hotel- not fancy. The descriptions are accurate. But I cannot over emphasize how amazing the front desk staff, the porters and valet, housekeeping, it really feels like you’re staying with cousins. Especially for the price you cannot beat it. Really enjoyable. The front desk staff is as capable or more capable than any five star hotel.

A hotel close to Chiang Mai Night Bazaar, right next to Anusarn Market and 15 minutes walk from Tha Phae Gate. The lady at the reception is very kind, friendly and helpful. The room is good, decorated in Thai style, very clean and good air conditioning. You must always use the key card to enter and exit the hotel and the elevator. This is very good for guest safety. It is a good hotel, quiet, with a low price.

I wouldn't go back for any reason! We Went for our honeymoon to this hotel. When we entered we saw a pesticides guy (with bug spray) coming out of the hotel but didn't pay attention. After an hour in a very smelly room we got a headaches... Went to the front desk - he said they had spray the room. After we ask to move a room or floor he and his manger wanted more money for the upper floors and lied that they didn't spray the hotel today and its an air freshener... We left the hotel after 2 hours!!
The staff was rude and we lost half day on this bad hotel...
The price for the room wasn't worth the room and hotel, nor the service. This hotel is anything BUT boutique!

We booked two rooms from 20th to 24th of October with my Family and had a wonderful stay!
Pros: ~Location was excellent! It was near bazaars and next to a lot of restaurants. ~It was actually quiet considered its location. ~It has elevator, good for family members who can't walk up the stairs ~Clean place ~They have pool and gym open from 8:00am to 7:00pm (But the reception actually told us if we want to exercise earlier, we just have to let him know and he will assist to open earlier) ~VERY HELPFULL STAFF
Cons: ~No shaver provided which is acceptable, but would be better if they can offer even if its chargeable. ~No adapters or maybe not enough adapters that can be borrowed so bring your own! We left ours at home and only got to share 1 for people charging 5 phones.
Breakfast is not included but have a restaurant where you can pay 120 to 150 baht per person depending on which breakfast set you prefer. Overall, it was a great place to stay solo or with group!

Good location and impressive looking entrance. But do not be fooled - this is a poor place to stay, shabby and unkept with uncommunicative staff obviously tired of complaints. Air-con not working, bathroom grotty and tepid water only .... Not the worst - bedding is clean and good beds - but need much more than this for a mid price hotel in Chaing Mai

Other than a good location ( night markets) it isn’t worth to stay here. No hot shower water, cold sink water, very little breakfast selections, firm bed, a small pool. However, they do provide shuttle service to the airport if you asked.
