We found the Rex after staying at a hostel in sukhumvit. The Rex has certainly seen better days but for 1200baht you get a big reasonably comfy bed, tv, fridge and sort of bath in the bathroom. Plus it has a pool which I find its redeeming feature for a budget stop over in bangkok. Location is good for skytrain...

My family friend in Bangkok found this hotel for us and so we did not have to deal with the other's reviewers' online booking troubles. But I needed to confirm our late check-in, so I tried to email them on their website address, which is incorrect by the way. Instead, try info@hotelrexbangkok.com. I was prepared for the grouchiness of the...

I arrived here again at the Rex Hotel after a long 5 year break from Thailand as I've been working mostly in Philippines now. But The place had recently had some minor facelifts with the exterior. The inside of the hotel is largely the same ( which is OK for me) and the 2 lifts are still as slow (and...

Place is not perfect but very acceptable: good location close to BTS and easy reachable from airport, clean and comfortable rooms but very plain. People are friendly, free Wi-Fi in the rooms. I can say, the breakfast is quite poor but it's not an option.

Some of the funkiest decor since Prague in the 90's. But it's rundown, threadbare and the pool is full of potted plants. My problem with the place is that upon rising and going to the desk for my breakfast voucher Mr Satasit at the desk did not say good morning or how are you instead he started in right away...

The pool is the main attraction, very nice but locked up at 6pm. On a roof next to the BTS skytrain going by. Closest station to Thong Lor if you have reason to want to be in this area. Sukhumvit is not near tourist attractions but it is an ok area to stay. A great Dental clinic is next to...
