We've spent there 3 nights this year and it was our second time in this hotel after year gap. After this year we have noticed that breakfast have been improved heavily. Now you have breakfast buffet with enough choices. Rooms are well kept with no hassles, but rather simple with artistic wooden ornaments and nice celadon ceramic washbasin. You can...

We stayed at Lamphu Treehouse for 3 nights at the beginning of our trip to Thailand and enjoyed our stay and the staff so much we returned for 1 night before flying back to the States. The rooms are nice although the bathrooms were definately 'budget style'. By that I mean that the toilet and the shower were essentially one....

We booked this hotel based on Lonely Planet's recommendation and viewing the hotel's website, and were very, very pleased with our choice. We arrived in Bangkok around 1:30 a.m., and got to the hotel around 2 or 3. This was not a problem, as the hotel security greeted us and promptly checked us in and showed us our room. We...

Stayed in the Lamphu Tree House for one night and have no complaints. The room was simple but very clean and comfy with great river views from the balcony. Check in was swift and had no problem finding it. The location is really good, within walking distance to Khao San Road but far enough away to not be bothered by...

Great somewhat hidden hotel in Bangkok. It was simply lovely. Upon our late night arrival Sat night, almost 1am Sun really, we were immediately welcomed with friendly smiles and service from the hotel staff. As soon as we entered the staff immediately began helping us with our bags and brought us some juice, they must have seen the exhaustion in...

We really liked this hotel, so much that we booked it for when we return to bangkok in one month, as we are traveling around thailand now. The location is perfect, its about a 5minute walk away from Koh San Road, which is mad! The only thing is the people who work there dont speak great english and cant advise...

The reservation system on their site seems not to work well. For two separate stays in the same month we tried to use the reservation system to no avail. Make sure you get your reservation, or you might end up, as we did, with what appears to be their sub-par room (set aside for walk-ins?)... Otherwise, nicely decorated rooms. Solid...

We arrived at Lamphu Tree on October 1, 2009. From the first, it was great. Not a luxury hotel, but a quaint, clean, kind hotel great for friends on a getaway or honeymooners. The pool was icy cold during a hot week, and the staff was always kind and helpful. The breakfast was great, and so was lunch (as we...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
