When we got dropped off at this hotel you have to walk along by the canal to get in and we all thought what have we done, but once you see the hotel its great, the rooms were a good size and clean, the roof terrace was lovely especially at night and the pool great after a long day sightseeing....

This was our first stop on a 20 day journey to Thailand for leisure/humanitarian efforts. We chose the hotel based on other tripadvisor recommendations. The hotel is in a located that is quieter yet near Kao San Road and a short Tuk-Tuk drive to many other attractions in Old Bangkok and the surrounding areas. Staff was friendly and helpful. Lobby...

Very comfortable hotel which took all the stress out of visiting Bangkok with small children. The pool allowed them to let off steam away from the hustle and bustle of the city, whilst the rooftop garden gave fantastic views and more space for the children to play. The hotel is conveniently located a short stroll away from river pier N13...

The hotel has relatively few rooms, making it quite a personal hotel. The staff are friendly enough, but not overtly so, but they did make good amends in resolving a booking mistake they made by upgrading me. The rooms themselves are of a good standard and the decor is modern, with a classical, wooden twist. There isn't much of a...

This is a lovely Thai style hotel - tucked away (and many taxi/tuk-tuk drivers couldn't find it easily) but very accessible for all the main temples. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We would stay there again if we return to Bangkok.

We booked this for two nights (Dec 29 and 30) at $1750 baht per night - peak season. It's close to Khao San road, but far enough away that you don't hear the noise. We like to walk when we come to a new city and the major Wats, Royal Palace, etc... are close enough to walk to, but you...

Located near the Royal palace, Wat Pho, Kao San Road and ather sights. Just off the road on a Khlong (canal), the hotel is quiet for Bangkok, rooms are clean and comfortable, the restaurant serves nice basic thai food and the breakfast buffet is very complete. Perfect for a few days in Bangkok

New Years Eve 2010 for 5 nights and worth every penny. Arrival was met with a smile and a glass of vino. They'd messed up the booking and only had one room down, but showing them my confirmation email on my phone quickly resolved it and my sister was bumped to deluxe. There's no need to go deluxe - the...

Good value for nicely decorated mid-range hotel. All the amenities we needed: aircon, fridge with free water, good shower, decent buffet breakfast (well except for drinks - juice and tea a bit poor), luggage storage, rooftop bar, etc. As someone who mostly stays in cheaper places I found the extras a bit pricey (laundry, internet) but I'm sure you'd pay...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
