We were there both on the outward journey for 4 days and on the return journey for 3 days. The location is excellent for those who want to stay in the "old" Bkk along the canal and close to both the river and Khao San road. Thai style structure on several floors with swimming pool and lift. The first room was a very large suite with a small terrace (unusable because it was too hot) and a very nice hydro tub with corner bathroom, the other was simpler with a balcony but complete with everything.
4 dots and not 5 for two reasons: breakfast too expensive at 300 baht and air conditioning in the room rather obsolete (not perfectly adjustable) and in both cases directly on the bed so ...
Anyway, I think we'll be back.

The location of this hotel is great, on the canal, about 10 min walk from Khosan Rd. It's tricky for taxi's to find so make sure you have your own google maps on as you can't be dropped outside but only on the main road. The staff were fine. Having the pool was great for a cool off after a day sightseeing and was needed as it was 40 degrees. The rooms however do get very hot during the day and it did take the aircon a while to cool the room down. Bathroom is very dated and so is the room but for the price it was definitely worth staying there

We have stayed at this hotel 6 times over the past two years and use it as a base for a few days when passing through Bangkok.
The hotel is in lovely position by the canal where you can see the monitor lizards in the mornings on the bank opposite.
The rooms are comfortable and the staff are very helpful, kind and welcoming.
It is an ideal walkable distance to Rambuttri and Khao San but far enough away from the noise.
Breakfast is good, with options for everyone including fruit, cereal and yoghurt as well as cooked options. Also free tea and coffee in the reception area all day is great.

The only thing that would improve this accommodation is a water refill as buying plastic bottles constantly is not good. Even if there was a small charge for this it would be great and help the environment.

We love staying at Lamputree and will continue to stay here when visiting and passing through Bangkok.

This guesthouse is in a great location very close to the Khao San Road area but also far enough away for some peace and quiet. It's right by one of the canals and has a lovely local feel with a small market just a minute walk away. We had a large corner room on the third floor which had great views over canal and nearby rooftops. Room very clean and light with a large shower room and separate sink area. The pool is a decent size but maybe needed a few more sun loungers around it. Staff very helpful and were able to organise a reasonably priced taxi for our trip to airport. You need to bear in mind that cars can't drop you off here as a pedestrian area but just a minute walk to the road.
A bit of a shame that the on site restaurant has now moved 200 metres further along the canal but they do a good breakfast there and there are a number of other local shops and cafes within a few mins walk.
Overall a great place to stay away from the hustle and bustle and sky scrapers of Bangkok.

Oasis of peace in the center of Bangkok..!
This small hotel is truly fantastic. The staff are very helpful and really try to make you feel at home. Because the hotel is located on a klung, there is relative peace. The 'busy' road is at 100 meters and there you can easily catch a tuktuk or taxi. Our room was just good, clean, everything whole and fine plumbing. Our room had the balcony above the pool. The breakfast was also very good. Fresh and varied every day. Even late at night you can eat from the menu, everything is in stock (or we were lucky).

The hotel breathes tranquility. From the hotel we have planned all our trips, organized or not (floating market, train-market, highlight tour, MahaNakhon glass floor skyscraper, Co van Kessel bike-boat tour, MBK center). The staff will arrange a taxi upon request to pick you up in the lobby.

The staff are great. The pool is very inviting and cooling. The rooms were big enough for two (I don't know about families. But, I did see a family of 4 there). The seating area around the pool had sun and shade for those of us who can't take too much exposure. The internet was good enough. Just don't expect to log into Netflix and watch a movie. My top tips are.
1. Eat at the family restaurant outside. The menu is small but by goodness delicious and cheap.
2. The 7 11 across the street we'll sell drinks for far more than the little local shop to the right just after the coffee shop.
3. Go right outside the hotel.
4. Get the grab app. You will save so much time and money.

We were warmly welcomed by all the staff who provided coffee and cold drinks and pulled out all the stops for us to have our room two hours ahead of the offical check-in.
A good breakfast was set out in the open-sided restaurant and later tasty, very reasonably priced Thai food was served till late which was a bonus for us when we returned from out of town excursions. The pool and the bar in frenetic Bangkok were a boon.
Our corner room was light and airy, not the most modern air-con but it worked for us (after a couple of minutes!) Very cheap laundry service too.
Quirky, boutique hotel which attracts experienced travellers who appreciate the quiet location on the canal, just a few minutes walk from the action.

I stayed here for 3 nights, I really liked it, I felt really cozy and the area is very calm therefore there was no noise at all. The pool was good, not so big but enough, I enjoyed it. The only thing you must take into account is the location - it is not so close to any metrostation. This proves to be a problem, because walking 20 minute in Bangkok is different than walking 20 minutes in Europe (I did not know but the pavements are in bad condition, there are barely any street lights and people will not stop at crosswalks, you have to run). And then I thought Grab/Bolt would do the work but simply it is impossible to find a ride when it is raining or rush hour. I had to wait for extremely long time after taking airport link train to the last station and waiting to find a car to drive me the last 3 km to the hotel. So next time I would book something closer to metro to avoid this problem. Sorry and sad because the hotel itself was lovely and you can go on foot to Khao San Road but for the other attractions, you need some transport.

Nice little hotel 5-10 mins out of the way of the main hustle & bustle.

Great standard rooms on floors 1-5 but the best (suites) are on the 6th floor with private patio area and scenic views.

All very clean & tidy. Adequate breakfast to start the day when planning sightseeing tours.

Nice pool area, if a little cramped once more than half a dozen or so guests want to use it at the same time. Mozzie, sunscreen & towels all provided for free.

Location was great, only 15 minutes walk to Kao San Road, but a little further from the nearest MRT. Staying along the canal embankment is lovely- and nice to watch the giant fish and lizards swimming about. The rooms were so so, our shower was constantly blocked and flooded the floor. The Aircon was really freezing no matter what temperature it was set at. There was no restaurant facilities and often very few staff at all. The reception desk guy was helpful.

Answer from Autumn J

Take public transit from airport into the city. Watch out for cabs trying to rip off tourist. The train didn't cost that much. You can bargain wth the cabs. Tho I'd stay away from them. Train to the city and walk to your hotel. They tried to charge us 500 baht from the train station in the city. I said no. They brought it down to 400baht. I still said no. We walked. It was not that far at all! Always trying to scam. However the hotel itself will set up transportation for you!!!!! We booked last min so we didn't know. We used it to take us back to the airport was fairly cheap. The hotel was great. I'm sure they would set something up for you. Sorry for late response I never saw this.
