We stayed here for 3 nights, the room was basic but clean and the staff were helpful and always available - this was a small but busy hotel with many nationalities staying.breakfast was good and varied, pool a reasonable size we spent the days sightseeing so did not use it.

the location is great at the quiet end of the Ko San Road ( which I more like a walking street with bars restaurants shops etc until you get to the crossroads and enter the party end of the Ko San Road (loud music hostess bars etc - a bit too much for us but some will love it).
The river and tourist ferry is a short walk away from there you can access Grand Palace / Sleeping Buddha etc A day ticket on the ferry is 300B and good value.
Would recommend as a base for sightseeing during the day and many bars / restaurants in the area for the night.

Stayed 5 nights, walking distance to Khaosan Rd but closer to bars and restaurants that are ideal for people who don't want the busy nightlife.
Stayed room 3566 double room had very small balcony which you step out onto from your window view of building next door. No chairs so had to take chair out of room. Shower good air con noisy though. You have to ask reception to clean your room By 1pm they do not do it automatically. Friendly staff lovely pool which has sun nearly all day sun loungers and seating area. Has no bar but has a fridge in reception which is next to pool for cold beers and non alcoholic drinks chang 120 baht.
Would come back again.

This is my second review of Siam Palace View. We have stayed here at least on seven previous occasions and apart from the occasional hitch (always promptly resolved) still consider this our favourite stay in Bangkok. However the price keeps climbing, one of the reasons being the compulsory breakfast included for which I think one should have a choice of having and paying for or not. As one is forced to pay for it you are inclined to get to the dining room at a certain time and face the not always pleasant " feeding frenzy" at the start of your day. Will not return to Palace View again unless given the choice of rates with our without breakfast.

Response from NewSiamP, General Manager at New Siam Palace View

Dear travelseale, Thank you very much for your 4 stars review on our hotel. It brings us pleasure to know that you thoroughly enjoyed your stay with us as we aim to provide our guests with memorable experiences. I truly appreciate your kind words which I have already shared with the team. It is definitely a boost for us every time we hear positive reviews such as this. I agree with you it is always difficult to match everyone's taste, especially in the lifestyle industry that customers are asked to pay for the premium. Please rest assured that your comment will be discussed for our future improvement. We look forward to the great pleasure of welcoming you back to New Siam Palace View in the near future. Kind Regards, Pattanapong N.

Location very good. Close to nice area. Breakfast buffet is good. Room is small and bathroom needs urgent renovation. Is very bad. If you forget to put clean room paper on door, they don't clean the room at all. Staff is nice, but not flexible at all. Everything only by their rules. Not recomendable....

We have stayed at his hotel annually almost from the first year they opened (pandemic years excluded) ; and every time we rate 10 out of 10 and five stars. However now that the hotel insists on offering only a breakfast included plan our love of our Bangkok home has diminished. It is not so much the breakfast, but also the feeding frenzy and noise of the crowd , a few shirtless, that one has to go down and face .
A very unpleasant start to the day. I mentioned this after our previous stay Jan 20 and was pleased that during the first leg of our trip a no breakfast option was offered. Upon our return from Laos we were very disappointed that the breakfast plan was once again the only choice. Furthermore the breakfast has deteriorated to some extent in that often certain items (muesli in particular); are not replenished . This along with what appears to be a general lack of upkeep has lost New Siam P.View 2 stars. The big plus and only saving grace was the superwoman, Benz at the front desk. This lady shows endless patience and seems able to handle the needs of many at once and always with a smile. Similar to her predecessor Bow who is now at New Siam 2 , i am told. Regrettably we will not be staying here again as long as management insists on maintaining " The Breakfast Ordeal" as the only choice.

A very clean hotel with a nice pool. Room was clean and buffet breakfast was good. Not a great location for catching trains. We walked to Sanam Chai station, about 20mins. It’s not a long walk but in Bangkok heat and humidity, it’s very unpleasant. And the hotel is situated on a one way street so the Tuk Tuk drivers will overcharge you. Temples and the Palace are also about a 20min walk away. Staff are not friendly, but that’s a Bangkok thing.

Clean but shabby. This hotel has helpful staff and reception open 24 hours BUT
My room smelled of drains
Very noisy air conditioner
Breakfast underwhelming
Near the river but nothing charming about it. I would look elsewhere - there are better places to stay in Bangkok.

We had a great stay here. Room was good and had a very comfortable bed and got cleaned everyday. Pool is great but can feel a bit crowded when there are many people. The breakfast was okay but can be improved and it didn't always had signs which said what everything was. Staff at the breakfast was very friendly, staff at front office not so much. The location of the hotel is perfect, close to a lot of cultural places and Khao San Road. Don't book the airport taxi service through the hotel, it's extremely overpriced!

Not the best of hotels. We would not stay again. 500mm step to balcony, shower curtain filthy should have been thrown out last year.

We are both non smokers but forced to endure stereo smokers as there’s no designated area around the pool or terrace.

Limited places around the pool either smell from the toilet or cigarette smoke if you’re lucky both!

Noisy pool area with been centre our last few days in Bangkok so I’ll see it out any more I would have moved.

I spoke to the management on reception she told me she didn’t have an answer. What can she do?

Room not expensive and we don’t expect the Ritz but at least consideration and good house keeping.

On a brighter note breakfast was good local shops handy.

Taxi boat stop 5min walk away for blue & orange flagged boats

Extremely bad customer service. The manager was suppose to contact me after I called five time and sent twelve emails about a personal matter and nobody cares. They also taken 3900 bath from me and refuse to refund although my British Airways flight was cancelled. Don’t go there.
