Best meals we had in Bangkok. Hot fresh ingredients and good value for money. Prawns were beautifully presented and delicious as was chicken and cashews and the fried rice. Highly recommend if staying in the area.

Nice small hotel decorated in a wooden Thai style. Bed on the floor as per the local style. Clean modernly furnished bathroom (sink, toilet decent powerful shower). The room was comfortable and fairly quiet. Staff on reception were friendly and helpful. There is a 500THB deposit for the room key which I wasn't expecting but unless you lose the key...

Stayed here on our final night in Bangkok before flying home. We ended up in a bunk bed room which was perfectly ample for our needs. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff were friendly. Location wise, the hotel is within easy walking distance of Khao San Road and the jetty for the river taxis. Be aware though that...

This place offers delicious food for a great price. Our favourites were the tom yum soup, the papaya salad, the cashew chicken and the holy basil chicken. Good service and ambience. Just make sure you have cash as they do not accept credit cards.

Very nice, cheap and cosy boutique hotel, located conveniently near the old city. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Ko Ratanakosin is within walking distance (I'd avoid/ignore Khao San Road completely, if I was you). The roof has a jacuzzi and a great view. There is a small restaurant which offers nice food. And on the Klong side of the...

We arrived at the hotel about 8am after a long haul flight so as you can imagine we were both pretty shattered. The hotel were more than happy to let us check in early. The room was very nice, clean and had everything we needed. Very reasonably priced too. I think the location was also very good, close to Koh...

I stayed here for a few nights with a friend, and overall we had a great time. The location was perfect (close to Khao San Road), the staff was friendly and the hotel was really clean! Also, there was a jacuzzi on the rooftop, which was a plus as well! :) However, some things that might be an issue for...

We stayed here for three nights with a group of friends. It's close enough to Khao San Rd, but nice to be out of the madness. We enjoyed our stay here. The front desk was helpful and accommodating..... they even helped us with an inside joke on our friends as they arrived. We enjoyed the rooftop for after party beers....

I checked in late after a long flight and paid a 1000baht for a twin room. I think i could of haggled a bit but i was tired. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and the shower excellent. The wifi was slow so i switched to 3G. Good coffee in the morning. Staff very polite. The best thing about...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
