Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I wasn't sure what to expect for my first time in the Far East. This gem of a hotel did not disappoint. Pan was a great hostess. You pick your breakfast the night before, but in addition there is yogurt, fruit and toast at a buffet table. Breakfast is served on a terrace overlooking Wat Arun. The location is walkable from the main temples. There is a good selection of restaurants and food too bars right on the door step

We stayed at Aurum the River Place for five nights during our stay in Bangkok. The location was perfect and within walking distance to three temples and right on the river very close to boat pier. Good breakfast was served overlooking the river. The staff was friendly and very helpful and Pan was able to help plan with a few of our private tours. This is a great little hotel and price was very reasonable.

We love this hotel—this was our third stay. It is in a great location and near many sights including Wat Po and the Grand Palace. There are many restaurants and shops to explore, and you can walk to the Flower Market. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff wonderful. Pan made the hotel feel like a home away from home. We hope to return soon.

Aurum was an ideal base for our visit to Bangkok. It's a beautiful boutique hotel, with a great breakfast (with great service) right on the river. Such a great way to kick off each day. It's walking distance to the Rajinee ferry stop on the river, Wat Pho, the Grand Palace, and the Sanam Chai MRT stop. So lots of sights nearby as well as easy access to the rest of Bangkok. Lovely room (with great air conditioning, an absolute must in Thailand). Pan was very courteous and helpful with everything and we hated having to say goodbye. We're looking forward to coming back someday. Thank you!

Wonderful location. Quick walk to Reclining Buddha. If young enough, the Grand Palace is also within walking distance. If not so energetic, easy and cheap ride on Tuk Tuk. Great massage right around corner. Staff great. Staff booked a "long tail" boat ride for us. Boat came right up to hotel to pick us up. Cheap and lots of fun. Breakfast choice was served for American taste. Very good and filling. Room very comfortable. I could not ask for a better experience. Highly recommend.

The staff was charming and helpful (thank you, Pan!). The room was fine -- nothing to be excited about, but a comfortable bed and it was clean. I could see the Temple of Dawn from my room. The breakfast at the edge of the river was outstanding. The hotel is walking distance to most of the major tourist sites, and is located in Old Bangkok where Thais actually live -- so be prepared for somewhat dirty, crowded and busy streets with cheap street food. But there are two outstanding Thai restaurants within a block or two. Take the ferry (a short walk) across to the Temple of Dawn. Walk to see the Grand Palace and the reclining Buddha.

When we arrived at the hotel after a long tiring flight we were told our room had not been booked. The booking error had been made by our agent, who had booked and paid for 3 nights stay in July instead of October. I do feel the hotel should have notified the agent that there was a 'no show' in July which would have given plenty of time for rebooking. The promised river view was largley obscured by another building. Otherwise a very central location for the Royal Palace and friendly service.

Great location, tucked down a quiet alley, nearly on the river. Amazing river views in several rooms. The desk clerk, Pam, was super helpful, kind, funny & personable. We walked to the pier 5 min down the road & used the Hop-on/off Boat to visit different sights. Had a great time in Bangkok & a great stay here!

We had a very good days in this hotel. The place is excellent, the view to the river very nice, the hotel is very confortable and the staff always want to give us the best of them. If I had to say something wrong it could be about the breakfast. The breakfast is very short and limited, you have to choose the kind of breakfast the day before and it is not a buffet. The rest, perfect.
