Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This little hotel is a bit odd in its design and room layout. Our room was two-story with the bed upstairs and the bathroom down some narrow and winding stairs. When we opened the drapes on our bedroom window we saw the outdoors, but also the downstairs lobby, so we left it closed. The bed was comfortable and the location convenient to the river, but this isn't somewhere I'd want to hang out. Good if you want to be near the river for boat rides and temple visits.

Location was perfect – walking distance to public transit (Sanam Chai MRT, Chao Phraya Tourist Boat) and major attractions (Wat Pho, Wat Arun, Grand Palace). View of Wat Arun from the room (there are only two rooms!) and rooftop bar was spectacular, be it in the daytime, at sunset, or at night. The complimentary welcome drink at the rooftop bar was a nice touch. Staff was friendly and mostly helpful. Do be aware that there is no secure storage for left luggage (prior to check-in/after check-out) and one should be in decent physical shape to ascend/descend flights of narrow stairs inside the split-level room as well as outside the room. The room was otherwise clean, tastefully decorated, and well-stocked with amenities.

I'm pretty sure this is the only room available in the complex, which is mostly a restaurant. The food is pretty good, and of course you're paying for the location. The suite is quite nice, with a large bathroom. The view and balcony is one of the best in the world. This is somewhere I'd stay once or twice for that purpose, and don't forget Wat Pho and Wat Phra Keow are at the end of the Soi. The staff are more focussed on the restaurant and this belongs to a group of three hotels/restaurants in the area. You can specify breakfast, but that requires a quick walk two blocks to another location where the options are very limited. In effect, you're here for the view and location. The food and service and secondary. Also, there's no parking. Tip: There's no lift, and with young children/older people the stair climb can be brutal. Make sure you tip the staff member that carries your luggage up and down.

The view. The view from The restaurant is stunning. You can have the great river view from all tables. The whole building is in wooden construction with taste. I went to the restaurant and found out they are a hotel with four to five rooms. A good place to visit for meals.

Arun Residence used to be a quiet, quaint boutique hotel on the river. That was 10 or so years ago. The area is now very busy and the building has been substantially redeveloped. Now, the hotel is almost a sideline to the restaurant and bar extending over 4 levels which attract many outside patrons. The accommodation is still good with each unit providing comfortable accommodation spread over several levels - although the stairs, banisters and balustrades in the units would raise safety concerns in many countries. The restaurant food is good and the staff were generally attentive. The view across the river to Wat Arun is a highlight.

The Deck by Arun residency is A simple friendly restaurant on banks of chao praya river with a beautiful view of Wat Arun. Wat Arun is on the opposite bank and view is absolutely unobstructed. Visiting around 5 pm is even a great experience. Hotel staff very friendly. Reservation is recommended in the evening. It is a nice place close to pier and one can get there by taxi or by boat. It is in a great location and worth spending time to walk the street. The grand swing is just within walking distance too.

I booked the hotel because of the stunning views and proximity to the main tourist sights. The hotel itself is nice enough, but I would suggest not staying here and simply booking dinner instead. The rooftop bar has an amazing view, but as such it’s exceptionally busy. Even if you get there very early, as a single person you can expect to be asked to move to make way for couples! This is something I have never experienced in 20 years of solo travelling. The food in the restaurant is good, but as a hotel guest you are told that they do not have availability until 8pm. This was exposed as an outright lie as I stood at reception and watched walk ins being told tables were available. Again I would suggest they do not want to serve solo travellers - even when they are staying in the hotel. I would agree with previous reviewers comments on receptions lack of helpfulness on the taxi situation. All in all of the kind of service you would expect. I think it’s safe to say I won’t be back and wouldn’t recommend it to anybody travelling solo!

For the price, and amenities it was worth it. Everything you would want and need in a humid climate and walking distance to the grand palace. Complementary breakfast is included, Ms. Mai was the waitress and was very polite and courteous. I have no complaints with this hotel. Of I return to Bangkok again i will gladly book here again

The ambience, food and view is great but when we order the steak the server didn't ask us what doneness of the meat we want and all the tables have a reserved signs so as a guest/customer you'll be confused on where to seat. But overall its was great shoutout to Mai our server she always smile.

This restaurant is a deck on Chao Phraya river, it's got amazing views. The Watermelon juice is awesome and the seafood spicy salad I had was the best. Service is superb and honestly will be coming here all the time. This restaurant is cheap and the views are to die for. You can see th Arun which is directly opposite and the boats are everywhere. The river however is sorry but nothing to do with restaurant. It's also very cheap. Brilliant!
