If you're wanting to stay by the river or walking distance to the Grand Palace this is the place! We had two rooms, Lotus and Chaba, and both were very charming and beautifully decorated with a loft bedroom, which included a lounge area, which was very cosy and romantic. The Lotus room had views of the river on both levels...

Arun Residence is in a wonderful location....walking distance to Wat Pho and the Grand Palace. Plus, there are many restaurants nearby and little shops/markets. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The rooms are very rustic and quaint and clean. The bed is up some winding stairs to a loft. Typical Asian style firm mattress.....mattress actually on the floor due...

The area of this hotel is my favored location to be just far enough away from the madding crowds but still near enough to get around Bangkok. Accordingly, most of the places in this area fit my bill and Arun Residence was very good and the nearby restaurants and access to mini stores, boat and the Royal area make this...

We booked a suite but when we arrived were upgraded to the Arun Haveli. I'm not sure we could have afforded it otherwise, but it was simply amazing and I highly recommend it for anyone who does have the money to spare. Arun Haveli is a detached apartment, basically, that sits on the water and is next to Arun Residence....

This place is in the "quiet" part of town, but near Wat Pho and other temples. Upon our return to Bangkok (we used it as a staging place) we were upgraded to their suite which was simply beautiful. Nice overlook of river, spacious room and comfortable bed. The service at the front desk was excellent and smiling and helped orient...

Set this up for a quick overnight in Bangkok. Unique hotel - small, spotless, large room. Very small; only a few rooms. All rooms have beautiful woodwork and we had a large balcony. If you want a Marriott or a Sheraton, go ahead and stay there. If you want a unique and fun place, try this one. Right on the...

We stayed here for a night on our way to Laos. The hotel arranged airport pickup for us, and left the keys on the desk as we arrived after midnight. The rooms were lovely and the view across the river to Wat Arun was great. We enjoyed the breakfast on the deck and the food was great. Easy to walk...

Ask yourself, what do you want out of a visit to Bangkok? The city is hot, noisy, busy, relentless, at times smelly, cosmopolitan and crazy. There are plenty of accommodation opportunities to suit every taste and budget, from the cheapest hostels to high end (sometimes impersonal) hotels. Arun Residence is a great find. Located at the end of a side...

Had a wonderful large suite with a porch facing Wat Arun. If you have the budget, do get a suite, it's not that much more expensive and you will be rewarded with a wonderful view of Wat Arun and the river and all its activities. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms very clean and air-conditioner worked well. Best way to...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
