I never leave trip advisor reviews, but this place really deserves the recognition! Wonderful hotel, lovely, attentive staff and magnificent views! Strongly recommend! Close to Wat Pho, the Grand Palace and across the river from Wat Arun this place is perfectly situated! Plus a hope on the express boat to central pier and Bangkok is your oyster!

"Wat Arun", across the river, all viewed directly from your bedroom window. You cannot ask for a better location to visit the major Historical Area of Bangkok than your stay at the Arun Residence. The warm, friendly very helpful staff, was always available to assist and made our stay quite memorable.

We spent a terrific four nights at Arun Residence. It's got a lot of character--and I mean that in the most positive possible way. Our room, Lotus, had the bed in an upstairs loft--luckily, with its own air-conditioning unit. From our lower floor, we were fascinated with the view directly down to the daily life of the soi below, and... More

Highly recommended for those who want to be in the old part of the city and/or on the river. Literally, right on the Chao Praya and across the street from Wat Po. We stayed in the Havelli suite, 1 meter above and laterally from the river. It reminded us pleasantly of being on a boat, right down to the waves... More

I have stayed there 4 nights now, I love it and plan to go back. It looks right at the Temple of Dawn across the river. I was in the Lotus the 3 day weekend and most recent stay finishing up 5 nights in Hua Hin we chose Arun residence again. We were upgraded to the Jasmine suite which had... More

Delighted with this hotel. Perfect position right on the river near Royal Palace and Wat Pho but really quiet. Friendly, efficient staff, comfortable room with individual character and good food on terrace by the river. Not for people who can't cope with steep stairs

Walked a side street to try to view Wat Arun. Suddenly Arun Residence was in front of us. A beautiful view to Wat Arun. Stunning, really. The restaurant is very low key, and really has no tourists. Stop, escape from the crowds and try a beverage. Enjoy the moment!

Stayed in Villa Haveli, great situation right on the river, very comfortable, spotlessly clean. Extremely convenient for sightseeing - recumbent Buddha 5 minutes walk, Grand Palace 10 minutes etc. What went wrong then? Villa is outside hotel down alleyway opposite rubbish bins. When someone chose to ring our bell at 4.15 am on our first night, the hotel did not... More

Stopped by after visiting the reclining Buddha. Just a 5-7 minute walk from the exit and right on the water. Great salads, great soups, great juices. Recommend for lunch after a hot visit. Too: ask up front for items out of stock. We found spinach soup and rocket salad were both out of stock after we ordered them.

I feel as if the cosmic puppet master walked me into this lovely accommodation. And indeed the events that transpired support this idea. The Arun Residence was clean and cozy. Cozy in the way that only a Bangkok bohemian hotel situated on the banks of Chao Priya across from Wat Arun can be. I had the pleasure of staying in... More

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
