This was the most revolting hotel visited during our trip. We booked this hotel thanks to our lovely travel agent and we would never stayed there, if we hadn't paid in advance. Thinking a jetlag of 11 hours is bad? Add the cockroaches, sweet smell, wild variety of specimen, crappy bed and no space. This hotel seems to be well...

Only stayed for one night (in a privat room). This is a basic hotel with comfortable beds. The bathroom was a little bit weird with a washbasin that is too low... The window in the room didn't close so I was a little bit scared when leaving the hotel. The staff was friendly and helped us to get a taxi to...

This place is definitely budget accommodation. We paid about NZD$12 a night and stayed for two nights. It's a great location- you're close to Khaosan Rd and main tourist sites, and the breakfast is OK (I had the omelet and it was fine). The place itself is dirty and run down, which you'd expect for the price. We had a...

We needed some cheap place to rest in Bangkok just for one night, and despite all the bad reviews we read here, we were attracted by the price and location so, we did a reservation here - hey, it was just one night and we did not think it would be so bad. Big mistake. The recepcionist was the rudest...

DON'T DO IT, good location but that is it. The staff were rude to my girlfriend, the room was a bug infested box, we did have a brief look at the reviews prior to booking but did not take note of them, BIG MISTAKE. The only safe box was on reception but to be honest I wouldn't trust the people...

I have been to 24 nations in many years. So far, this hotel has been the dirtiest, worst service and the first among hotels to be avoided. Hotel personnel are rude, rooms are terribly dirty and full of mosquitoes. Its great we only had to stay there for a night, on our way from Ho Chi Minh to Siem Reap....

Cheap but NOT cheerful. Small, dusty neglected rooms which are nothing like the pictures on the hotel website! (Should have checked trip advisor but booked this through a high street travel company..) Irrespective, it's not worth the hassle; we changed rooms as the initial one was dirty and unmade, wires hanging out the wall and a dirty foot towel left...

Been travelling in SE Asia for 4 months and this was one of the worst places we stayed. Small rooms, no windows. A 3am had homeless people knocking on the door asking for money - very scary! Next morning we had no water in the hotel for 5 hours because someone had trashed the toilets when drunk - inconvenient! Poor...

This hotel is quite cheap for Bangkok standards. Having said that, don't expect anything fancy. The rooms are small and quiet dirty. The bed is not so great. The bathroom is ridiculously small. The staff is not really friendly or helpful, not annoying rude though. Good things: price and location (near Khao san Rd. Many restaurants, stores and bar kind...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
