The hotel is very far from the main road however it was very quite in the evenings. The hotel facilities were in serious decline and not worth the effort. I was very disappointed that the hot water stopped working on the second to last day and the reception didnt really care. The reception provided reasonable information and travel advice but...

Spent 4 nights there in May (and booked to go back in December). Rooms are old and smell a bit odd at first, but generally clean. Bed was comfortable. There's a light switch in the bathroom that turns itself off after a few mins which caught me out a couple of times. Was at the end of a long soi,...

Found the Royal Asia when walking down Soi 8; it is a small family run hotel with a red tuk tuk that offers free service up and down the Soi 24 hours a day. Rooms are clean and the staff friendly and accommodating. Virtually no car parking. Owners are Thai/Indian and extremely friendly to guests. Owners even took a group...

First of all we booked this hotel months in advance. When we arrived they didn't have our reservation. We had to jump into a cab and look for other accomodation. Another friend booked there as well and they also had no record of their reservation. I think that because we arrived so late at night they simply gave our rooms...

Staying in Sukhumvit

Neighbourhood Profile
Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.
