This place was cheap and right by khao san which was good for us and not a bad price, however i'm sure there's much better for the same price. Standard rooms and being in Thailand for the past 6 months nothing really bothers me, however for slightly more wary travellers to put it bluntly the rooms are dirty, they smell...

This was without a doubt one of the worst hotels i've stayed in in almost 4 months travelling round Asia. I booked a superior room which was tiny, dirty and nothing like the picture on the website. The bathroom door was positioned so you could barely sit ont the toilet. The aircon unit, positioned above the bed, started dripping water...

Upon checking the receptionist gave the absolute minimal effort required and could not manage to return a smile. Room was tiny and smelly and dirty. I checked my bags for the day when leaving and when returning to pick them up was rushing to airport. I attempted to open the door as she was standing there and was unsure if...

Arrived here just after midnight after very long journey. Had pre booked and paid but they couldn't find our reservation. Unfriendly receptionist finally agreed to find us a room which we had to wait another 40 minutes for.

First time arriving to Bangkok at Sawasdee Smile Inn it was a strange welcome after reading so much about the land of smiles. I experienced the receptionists all as very unfriendly and cold. When I was checking in they didn’t even look at me. I had chosen this place because it is easy to book and pay online and arriving...

Stayed for 1 night in a small room with airc en private bathroom for 600 bath. The matras was very bumpy, the bathroom had mold on several places. I think within short distance there are better value guesthouses to be found, for example New Siam 1, bigger room for 650 bath and a clean more spacious bathroom. The guesthouse is...

We arrived at the hotel to be greeted by the rudest person I have ever met. The hotel was unclean and unfriendly. The room itself was small and looked nothing like the pictures online. The 'double' bed was a glorified single and there was barely enough room for my boyfriend and I to sleep in. We booked a room that...

Went to book a room in this place ans service was so bad and place so untidy I just walked away. Feel sorry for the guests that stay there. I think a lot of the hotels in this area are of a poor quality. Easier to walk 15 minutes to khoason road. I would rather sleep in a tent!!!!!!!!

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
