Right in the action of the backpacker district but set back from the road/path so it is quiet in the rooms. Nice pool on the roof, helpful staff and good safes in each room. Very clean. Only downsides are loud (but effective) aircon and a weak shower.

- I booked: Superior Double Room. - Positive: Clean room with air-con and hair-dryer. Buffet breakfast as in a 4* Hotel. Swimming-pool in the terrace (roof). Good location: next to Khao San Road and 15 minutes on foot from Grand Palace. - Negative: Very poor WiFi. Thai style shower, water in toilet floor everywhere. Air-con system noise if window is...

Situated in the backpackers' paradise destination 'Khaosan Road', this hotel is an excellent setup for budget couple or group travelers. The rooms, corridors, garden area is are clean and very well maintained. Main attraction is its swimming pool which is well designed on the 6th floor of the hotel. The view from 6th floor is also nice and soothing. Major...

I think this hotel was better in the past, I chose it based on advise of other people who have been here, but my experience was a bad one. It's a very big place and close to Khao San, maybe that has something to do with the indifferent attitude of the staff. The rooms are a bit depressing, the airco...

My boyfriend and I stayed here for the first two nights of our trip to SE Asia and loved it. It's a little more expensive than some hostels but well worth the money. The rooms were clean and the rooftop pool is a necessity in the heat! The location is great and there are lots of restaurants around, as well...

Although the rooms are very simple, its super clean. Amazing location and my favorite part - the roof top with the amazing swimming pool!! Such a bonus in the middle of super hot Bangkok!! The hotel is a great option for anyone who wish to stay in the busy area of the kawasan - but not is the middle of...

This is a good budget hotel. Clean and comfortable with aircon but absolutely no frills. You can only have hot showers at certain times of the day and night but this is not a problem as you really only need the cold water to cool off. Staff are friendly and helpful. Nice cafe downstairs and you can book all your...

Have stayed here many times because of the roof top pool and the convenient location, close to Khao San Rd without the noise and hysteria. Set on a quieter street you get the party atmosphere of the main backpacker drag without the persistent noise. Staff are pretty blank and cold, checking in and out is pretty tedious and slow. Wouldn't...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
