Gay friendly. Best time to go to sauna is after 5pm, mostly visited by queer and gay foreigners at 80% who are from late 30s and early 40s. Entrace is at 230 baht. Food are so much affordable! A truly relaxing place in Sathorn after an exhausting day at work or city tour (for tourists). If you like mature men,...

I struggle to write about Babylon. Have stayed here a few times and twice on a recent trip to SE Asia. For the price the rooms are not cheap for Bangkok, non of the barrack rooms have en suite. The shared bathrooms are dark and not always very clean. The reception staff range from being downright rude and pretty useless...

Only spent one night here but wish I had booked for longer. It is spotlessly clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The bedroom (Barrack) was large and the bed very comfortable, in fact I had one of the best night's sleep ever. The sauna is beautiful and the meal I ate there was very good. There was a...

The Barrack room was well-maintained, clean and is equipped with a good set of amenities (television, air-conditioner, fridge, safe, and fresh towels. The hotel is not in a very central location but transport is readily available. The hotel is ten minutes-walk away from the nearest train-station and there are taxi, tuk-tuk and motorcycle-taxi outside the hotel. My stay overall was...

First time in Bangkok and oh my word what a great City. We have booked a garden suite in the back area of the B&B which was spacious, great layout and private. The breakfast is really something to look forward to, you just have to walk around to get fabulous food in the afternoon and night. (which we didn't mind...

Architectural and interior design - the hotel is superbly designed. Slate floors, exposed concrete ceilings and blue lighting in the corridors. The gym is good enough. The pool is always full of looking eyes :-) Excellent location - not far from Sutton Street MRT station and bustling Silom Street. Nice staff - but nothing more. In conclusion, suitable only if...

A short but sweet stay! The Suite we stayed in (804) was perfect. Spotless with a shiny wooden floor, facing a small garden, with nice locally made furniture. The staff couldn't be more friendlier. Engaging you to a conversation whenever they see fit. The Sauna is not the best I've seen but it is clean, well maintained and quite big....

If you live in a major city world wide Babylon will disappoint because you will find better saunas/gyms at home.. The sauna/gym/pool area is full of old, pot belly, guys you would not want to see or be seen with. Gym equipment is dated. We were overcharged in October 2014 as we had bookings for nine nights but were not...

Very fancy hotel. Great room. Friendly staff but you are always feeling inside a sauna. In order to go around the hotel you must go into the sauna. Otherwise no swimming pool, no gym, no bar ! A sauna with hotel included could be a better description.

i agree with some of the comments here about the not so friendly reception staff. but the people during breakfast and the staff at kiosk just outside the reception were amazing. i even got to know Luchin- the always hungry squirrel. the hotel is hidden from the city proper like a getaway after a tiring week or so. a secret...

Staying in Sathorn

Neighbourhood Profile
Sathorn
Sathorn is Bangkok’s central business district, but here you’ll find much more than international banks and suited-up office workers. Take a stroll along the small alleys between the skyscrapers and you’ll find yourself among Bangkokians living life at a much slower pace. Feast on fantastic Thai food which you can find in the town-house restaurants, office food courts and sidewalk food stalls spread all over the area, especially around St. Louis Hospital. A visit to Sathorn is not complete without a drink at one of the glitzy sky bars perched atop its skyscrapers.
