I have stayed at "The Malaysia" before and am still amazed at how unique+special it remains. I arrived after a long series of flights and after checking in went straight to the SPA for the 1st time. My 2 hour massage was fantastic, ironing out the knots+stress of the previous journeys. The coffee shop/restaurant are great and the deep pool...

An exotic location to spend time with your family. Even couples would enjoy here. Good time to spend towards pool side and of course never to miss the spa as it is something different. Customer service is good. Food has varieties but can be a bit better. Overall nice stay as they also do have some activities for children. Good...

I travel to Thailand at least twice a year, and whenever I need to stay over in Bangkok for 1 or 2 days, this is the place for me. I found this hotel by chance around 10 years ago. Its not modern for sure but recently they have started to upgrade the rooms in the main building. The rooms and...

Malaysia hotel is actually not bad at all. Do not let the first impressions fool you. We had a very good stay. Any cons ? Yes location wise not perfect but ok.Breakfast is not included but the prices in the restaurant is very affordable. Their "all night" service with food and drinks is outstanding.

There a many more upmaketed hotels in Bangkok but this is one of the most efficient hotels I have ever stayed in. All the amenities you require are there all the staff know their exact role and resposibility. If you are looking for luxury then this is not the place for you but if you want somewhere where you will...

The hotel is old, tired and in need of a general renovation. Slightly overpriced for what it offers. It charges for WiFi and in room tea/coffee in all but the most expensive rooms. There is a 24 hour restaurant where the food is reasonably priced but quality depends on which chef is working - night chef is best. Staff can...

Roms: very very fine for the price Service: second to none Cleanliness: second to none Smoking: you may smoke in the room, but not in the indoor or outdoor restaurant. Wifi: slow. Could be improved for a small price. Perhaps one person should be upgraded to superuser. I tested the download speed to 0,76 Megabit/sec.

I have stayed twice at this hotel, which was recommended to me by a friend. The rooms were really nice and spacious, with flat screen TV , and air conditioning that really works. I had a great view from the large windows, of the courtyard below. Internet is available at the front office, or in the special computer room for...

A bit of a 60s time warp but that gives it some originality. Staff are pleasant and non judgemental. If you have an issue with gay life, maybe find some Christian guest house where you can have your prejudices confirmed.

Staying in Sathorn

Neighbourhood Profile
Sathorn
Sathorn is Bangkok’s central business district, but here you’ll find much more than international banks and suited-up office workers. Take a stroll along the small alleys between the skyscrapers and you’ll find yourself among Bangkokians living life at a much slower pace. Feast on fantastic Thai food which you can find in the town-house restaurants, office food courts and sidewalk food stalls spread all over the area, especially around St. Louis Hospital. A visit to Sathorn is not complete without a drink at one of the glitzy sky bars perched atop its skyscrapers.
