We got this guesthouse after one night in the dire Green House, and it felt like luxury. We paid 700B instead of 750 as we booked for more than one night. For that price we got breakfast, a great room which felt more like a hotel room than a guesthouse, and a 15 minute massage taster each for free, from...

The hotel is cheap and you get aircon included which is a bonus in Thailand!! Breakfast is also included, although it is very basic with literally 3 choices. The room also includes wardrobe and TV. However, the bathroom is tiny and the shower literally soaks the whole bathroom and the room is very cramped and small with no window. Generally...

First of all, you get what you pay for, and for a 500 Baht/night room, you can not expect too much. How ever, the room was clean, had a working AC and free water bottles. The staff was nice and helpful and the restaurant served an OK breakfeast. The only thing that bothered me was the thin walls, the khao...

I stayed here years back and wrote a good review but now that I've visited BKK several more times I realized how mistaken I was with this guest house. The whole thing needs an overhaul, makeover. It's a bit on the dreary side and very very very basic. The shower is a hose coming out of the wall and the...

I wanted somwhere near to but not on Khao San Road, and this place is exactly that. It takes litereally a minute or two to walk around the corner to the KSR and be in all the action, but this place is far enough away to get a decent nights sleep.... Well, almost.... It wasn't uncommon to see western blokes...

They provide a good service and staff member are very helpful and able to communicate in perfect english!! They also provide free breakfast and coupons for free massages on the spa centre located on the 6th floor of the hotel. Definitely...

Quick summary: if you plan to be out and about constantly and just need a place to sleep in a central location, this is as good as any. Lots of street food & restaurants, some bars (with live music!), and a small outdoor park nearby (on the Chao Phraya). Reasonable service, kind of dingy, could hear the neighbors breathing, but...

I stayed here largely because of the reviews on this site, so I thought I would contribute my personal experience. -- Staff - seems as if they have lost their excitement for their job - perhaps overcharging westerners for an average hotel doesn't make them as happy anymore... -- Room - medium sized, clean enough, though scuffed and dirty walls...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
