I wasn't really sure what to expect because I didn't see any pictures before hand, my friend had recommended it and my other friend booked it for me. The rooftop restaurant/lounge area is incredible! So gorgeous, spent much time up there during the evening and some afternoons. Tiew, the woman at the front desk, was very VERY helpful. As a...

A bit difficult to find but it was absolutely worth it. The view is fantastic and the food was great. Sitting at the rooftop overlooking the city and the river with calm music in the background in a hectic city was nice after a busy day looking at all the sites and markets.

Good price, friendly, helpful staff. Nice and big rooms with great view of the river., clean but old. Stayed there with our 1,5 year old. Good rooftop restaurant. Love the area, very authentic and away from the crowds of khao san. Close to river boat transport.

RiverView Guesthouse is a very unique small guest house/hotel in a very special location. I had a chance to stay in this hotel for 2 nights in a dragon room. The room itself is in good size. We like the room and the service of the staff but our biggest complaint was the bathroom as the door was not working...

The guesthouse has surely seen better days and the room interior was not the best (we stayed in their City Delight room) bugs could be found in the bathroom but the fan was very much needed so if you're thinking about staying in one of their rooms that do not include a fan, I'd advise you to have water beside...

Riverview guesthouse was first recommended to me back in the 90's but my wife and I stayed here for the first time last year. When we came back to Bangkok again this year there was no question as to where we would stay. Now admittedly we booked the sweet breeze rooms (6-7 floor river side) and while more expensive than...

I first stayed at the River View in 1992 and over the years have often recommended it to friends but with all the lodging available in Bangkok now, there are many better possibilities at lower prices. To be sure, the location is excellent (once you figure out how to get there) and the terrace restaurant has a terrific view---but anyone...

Dear Khun facinho, Thank you for taking your time to give us review. As for the elevator, please sincerely accept my apology for your inconvenience. At that time, we wished to fix the problem as soon as possible, but our elevator maintenance contractor was shorted of staff as well. And due to the safety concern, we only left to last...

Staying in Chinatown / Yaowarat

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown / Yaowarat
Better known as 'Yaowarat' among locals, Chinatown is Bangkok's bustling district that never sleeps. During the day, the main street and its small alleyways are filled with a vibrant mix of colours, scents and flavours coming from the roadside restaurants and all-day markets. The real action, however, happens after sunset. Surrounded by neon lights, Thais and tourists alike flock here around dinnertime to feast on some of the best street food in town. Escape the chaos by venturing a little further from the main road and discover hidden shrines, friendly locals and daily life in its purest form.
