When I visited Bangkok this May (2013) I was impressed by the charme of the 1yolo hostel! One cannot say that the 1yolo provides much luxury, but therefore it just creates a cozy and comfortable atmosphere. Also to mention are the staff members partly even living in the hostel, giving really their best for their guests 24 hours a day....

I just visited Bangkok from 25 April to 1 May. 1 Yolo actually is a nice hostel which mixes modern western style with Thai flavor. The location is unbeatable. It's in downtown area. Phrom Phong BTS station and Emporium Shopping center are just 100 meters away. There are many massage shops, 1 Naraya Bag shop, and 7&11 convenient store nearby. I...

Had a great holiday with 1Yolo hostel during Songkran. I would stay here again next year. It is close to Phrom Phong station(E5). You can find a 6 storey shopping mall with meter taxi stand at its left. There are 2 massage shop, 1 Naraya Bag shop, and a nice(cheap) local food shop nearby. Nice place to stay and explore.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 days in April and had a good experience with only a few minor things that could've been better. Pros: friendly service (if not sometimes a little too laid back!). It was a briliant location, just a few minutes walk from Phrom Phong bts station, atm and currency exchange, street food, restaurants, 7/11...

While traveling with my girlfriend, we came to yolo 3 separate times during our travels of southeast Asia. Each time was equally good. The rooms are clean and cool with the ac. The downstairs cafe has great food. The best part about 1yolo are the staff. They are very helpful, with plenty of tips on things to do in bangkok....

Stayed here for a total of 5 nights as a short stop on the way home after being on the road for 2 months. I have been to BKK 8-9 times over the last 10 years, so the city is not new to me, but I have never stayed in areas such as Khao San Road. This time I opted...

This is my 2nd visit at the 1YOLO, and this week's experience was just as good as the last time, Nov 2012. For the quality of the rooms (shared ones), the convenience of being near the Skytrain, the good food served in the cafe below, and friendly staff, 1YOLO is still a good value. Talking with some other guests that...

Staying in Sukhumvit

Neighbourhood Profile
Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.

“It appears that many of the rooms (including the 2 private rooms) have windows facing the main street. I would recommend bringing earplugs if you have trouble sleeping due to the high volume of noise from outside. The private room on top floor might be slightly larger than the one on the floor below. However, if sharing, be warned that the toilet doesn't have a door.”

“When I checked in around 3 PM on a Wed, there was no issues with choosing my bed. There was still good choices for a bed. If you didn't bring ear plugs, choose a bed away from the street,”
