Stayed here 2 nights, including New Year Eve. Could not have picked a nicer place. Away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to the action. The staff were super, offering plenty of advice for a NYE location as well as our onward travel to Cambodia. Very close to Thewes Pier, which made the river attractions easy to get...

This is a fantastic guesthouse, mostly because of the staff. Incredibly sweet and helpful. We only stayed for 2 nights, but I'd definitely go back and stay here again in the future. The ladies were so kind to make us breakfast which we could bring on a tour we booked for the next day (pick up at 6.45). They offered...

The owners and staff could not have been more delightful! Friendly, eager to give tourist advice, and answer any questions. They helped us find the best ways to negotiate the traffic, with suggestions on buses boats, walking and the sky train. They even served us a traditional Thai breakfast our final morning. Delicious! The room was quiet, cool and spotlessly...

This guesthouse is well situated very close to the Thewes Pier to catch the water taxi. The street is very calm, but not far from Khao San Road. Some nice restaurants are nearby. The rooms are clean, nice and spacious with a good bed, private bathroom and hot water. They are located on the first floor. Breakfast is served in...

What can I say, the other reviewers are right. This is a really nice place "off the beaten path". It is in a local Thai neighborhood away from the tourists but still convenient. The water taxi is a hop-skip-and-a-jump away. From the dock, you can buy some food for the fish and pigeons and feed them. My kids really enjoyed...

We stayed in 2 different rooms as we had to move due to our booking on a very short note. Both rooms were upstairs on the 1st floor and very nice. Big, good tight matrices, dark wooden floors, nicely furnished. Service is very friendly and there are some valuable ad ons like free drinking water and juice, free coffee&tea throughout...

I loved the spaciousness of the bedroom and bathroom, and the firm bed. Flight arrived at midnight and the staff arranged a taxi service for 800 baht. I really didn't want to drive around Bangkok at 1 a.m., what with the language barrier and all. Though twice the cost of a regular metered taxi (which would be about 400 baht),...

This was my favorite place I stayed while visiting Thailand. The ladies that run this guesthouse were amazing. When I arrived, they met me with a cool drink and took my luggage to my room. They gave me a map of Bangkok and told me how to get to the attractions I wanted to see. They were exceptionally kind, informative...

Baan Manusarn is a very good and friendly guesthouse. Our room was excellent, very spacious - the only thing is that the mattress was too hard. The breakfast is abundant and delicious. Despite being a bit far from the main sights of Bangkok, there is a pier just meters from the guesthouse, where you can catch a boat for ridiculous...

We arrived to a very warm welcome by one of the three friends who runs this place. She sat us down and basically debriefed us, with a map of the city and all the info we'd need for our stay. The room we stayed in (rm 3) was clean, and spacious with a private balcony. We did have a shared...

Staying in Dusit

Neighbourhood Profile
Dusit
When wandering around the Dusit Palace grounds, you'd almost forget you're still in a Southeast-Asian city. The Renaissance-style buildings and leafy gardens wouldn't be out of place in an European capital, and the serenity here is in stark contrast with the chaotic city life outside of its complex walls. Dusit is one of Bangkok's oldest districts, and while the rest of Bangkok is modernising at a rapid pace, Dusit seems to have stood the test of time. Come here to find family businesses in traditional shophouses, small-scale local markets and streets unfazed by modern city life.

“We stayed in two of their rooms. One with a shared bathroom and the larger suite. Both were good, excellent air conditioning, and large. The shared bathroom was better laid out than most and not a problem at all. The suite had a bit more traffic noise, but such was not a problem for us.”
