I get over to Bangkok from Phnom Penh roughly every other month to see friends and get out of my PNH routine. The Vietnam era hotel has its own flavor and a lot of history. I originally stayed there in the early nineties and continue to return. I like the location near Nana Plaza one of the bigger entertainment areas....

This is an older hotel, yet everything in the room works perfectly. Nice showers. Big bathroom. Big room. Most of all the beds were very comfortable. I never slept this good in a hotel before. 10 nights of relaxing sleep. Needed the alarm to wake me up every morning. Cleaning staff does an excellent job making the room perfectly clean...

The Nana was good for a quick transit stay and boasted a very lively Ground Floor Bar at which it was a pleasure to have the complimentary drink. The lattter was a nice touch by the way. The staff were efficient and the hotel was conveniently situated for shopping on Sukhumvit.

I visited Nana Hotel on a recent trip. I wasn't expecting much because I understand it's a low cost hotel and the cheaper ones in Bangkok tend to be a bit shady. But even with that in mind, this one was pretty bad. Check in and lobby are fine. The rooms use an old metal key on a piece of...

I was passing through Bangkok for one night and a friend suggested staying here to see the crazy Bangkok nightlife. He wasn't kidding. You are right across the street from the Nana Plaza, where you see all sorts of adult entertainment. The hotel itself felt like it was from a different era, not dirty but just rough around the edges...

Staying in Sukhumvit

Neighbourhood Profile
Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.
