I enjoyed staying in this hotel. My single room was quite large with a large bed and, which is always important for me, a good writing desk with a lamp over it. The bathroom was also quite large and, unlike most hotels in the region, it had a separate shower, not just a shower head over the toilet seat. The...

This hotel is very cheap but you are getting a very nice value for your money. Very close to bts, patpong and siam square. Staff if very kind, helpful and friendly. Rooms are a bit old but still clean and well mantained. I would definitely come back

It was cheap but also awkward and somewhat dissatisfying. The hotel I usually stay at in Silom (BKK) was under renovation and, somewhat ironically, they jacked up their room rates for the event. So this time I decided to check out something new: La Residence offers small rooms with big bathrooms and a small computer with internet access in the...

I was very happy to stay in this hotel. Received a warm welcome on arrival; the lady (owner) was waiting outside already for the taxi to arrive. All the staff members were very friendly and helpful. The room was good and clean, although not as big as the double rooms I was used to. I had a single room and...

Small hotel on great location, in the heart of Bangkog. Very clean, staff is friendly, and although it's located on some of the main streets of Bangkog it's very quiet. Hope to visit again some day, and I recommend this hotel to everyone who wish to be in the center of this impulsive town.

Definetely a hotel to recommend!! Being my first time in Thailand I was a bit unsure about the place to stay but finally I decided to book here a room because of the good rates and the good rating. And the accomodation turned out to be really good, I mean, you cannot expect a Sofitel standard paying Ryanair fares, but...

The location is OK and it's about 10 minutes walk to the nearesr BTS station. The staff is kindly and the service is really good. Although it is not very large, it is very comfortable and the stay is worthy of value.

this place is well located, very clean and super friendly. The breakfast was lovely, wifi worked fine and the minibar is inexpensive. They didn't seem to mind me coming and going at odd hours. I'm sad to check out today.

La Residence Bangkok is a good, plain, inexpensive hotel. It's close to the city centre, insofar as there is one in Bangkok, and offers few frills other than free, secure, wifi connections. It does provide all that's needed, however. The rooms are spotlessly clean, the beds comfortable and the mini-bar more than adequate. The owner/manager speaks excellent, colloquial, self-taught English....

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
La Résidence is an intimate, yet hip boutique hotel in the heart of Bangkok. Located on Suriwongse Road next to Silom Road, it enjoys easy access to all the major shopping areas and is only minutes away from the Chao Phya River which is the best shortcut to all the famous temples via river taxis. Patpong Road, the notorious entertainment area which converts into a shopping bazaar from 1700 until 0200 is only a few blocks away. Major shopping centers as well as souvenir shops at the Silom Village are also within walking distance.Well known for its beautifully decorated rooms and delicious, authentic Thai food, La Résidence is a rare find in a city full of cliched decor and banal rooms. Each of our twenty six luxurious rooms and suites are equipped with all the amenities and charmingly furnished with lots of little personal touches and each with it's own unique theme.Best of all, rates are very reasonable coupled with impeccable service. Most of the guests are regulars who could afford 5-star hotels, but wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else. ... more   less
