Ambassador is a nice, decent hotel.I was in tower wing on the top floor. The hotel lobby is crowded round the clock. Guest will get a quality breakfast in this hotel, but crowd is huge at the AM restaurant during breakfast time. Hotel staff were found reluctant and they were not warm with us. I would say they are just...

Have two towers of 7 and 26 floors. Checking in at times can be a lengthy process and some wait beyond the normal 2 PM may be on cards, specially on weekends. Breakfast has many options but could be crowdy. Near to the Nana BTS in Sukhumbit area. Shopping at MBK is 4 stops away from Nana near the National...

We booked a Deluxe Room with Breakfast. The description and the picture shows a separate standing shower. We were in Bangkok before booking and asked the stuff what the room have. The confirmed the description. After we finally arrived for our stay we were so disappointed about the room. Smells like cigarettes (but it's non smoking) - the shower is...

On the day I check out, I head an horrible expiries with one of the staff members called Stephen. The rest of the stay was ok. However, when I was there in the beginning of Feb.2017 there are 85% Indian travel groups in the hotel. The location is good.

The Ambassador hotel is located in Sukhumvit 11, Bangkok. This is one of the best areas for shops, and restaurants. The hotel is very large and has shops and 2 restaurants in its modern lobby. However, the rooms are very old and outdated. The fitness gym is large but contains a lot of old equipment from the 1980’s. The front...

We got the room at 67% off due to ordering the day before. The only downside is we seem to be located next to the cleaning staffs depot. Staying in Sukhumvit

Neighbourhood Profile
Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.

Hi everyone, our family has been staying at Ambassador Hotel on our annual Bangkok Vacation for the last 15 years and we love it as it feels like home and the area is just unbeatable!

The last time I went there was in April 2014 and on this trip we noticed the hotel has fallen a few steps back from what it was compared to 2013. A few things I would like to know :

1. The A/C in the Reception area used to be really good and refreshing to walk into after a full day of shopping but in 2014 the A/C was literally non existent, so what I want to know is - was it temporary or is it still the same ?

How about the A/C in the Tower Wing Ground floor lift area (near the fish tanks ?) and in the AM Cafe. We usually hang around these areas hence the concern.

2. We always stay in the Tower Wing and have found that the Rooms and Washrooms were quite good (no foul smell, cockroaches etc) is the standard still the same in the tower wing?

The house keeping in the tower wing used to do an awesome job cleaning the rooms, how is it now ?

3. Is the hotel still happening like it used to be ? One plus point for this hotel used to be that it was never boring (people always in the lobby area etc).

These questions might be weird to some but this year we will be spending around 17 days during the Christmas and new year season in Bangkok and can't let anything spoil our holiday as it is a very special one this year! if the hotel has really gone down we might have to look for a replacement hotel - sadly :(

Thanks,

Jamie - Sri Lanka.
