An old hotel which is well past its glory days. Nestled in the Sukhumvit area its a brilliantly located hotel with various food and drinks iptions around it. Walking distance from the Nana metro station. The rooms are clean and neat though the front desk people are slightly confused and check in takes a long time. Atleast for us it...

1. Adequate room size 2. Walkable to Nana station metro 3. Water logs in rest room. But did not cause any huge problem. 4. Comfortable for a family stay. Based on my experience with stay in pattaya, took a room on higher floor. 5. Hotel folks took some time to allot rooms. Check in was at 2:00 pm for 2...

Well priced hotel in a good location I thought I read shuttle service somewhere but it was a mistake , arranged a taxi through a desk at the airport which turned out to be expensive when I compared it to the return leg price. Hotel arrange a taxi service which means they hail a cab for you. Allow more than...

It's an average hotel but the location of it is perfect. Everything is at walking distance . You get WiFi for two devices , nice breakfast and average room service . I would say I don't mind staying there again.

Hotel is definitely good for its class/category in Bangkok. We had booked through Cox and Kings and were 4 persons in two rooms in the newer Tower wing. We had arrived from Pattaya at about 10:30 am. Rooms were not ready and we were asked to come back at 2 pm. Meanwhile, the temple tour guide picked us up at...

Though we had taken a luxury suite but apart from the separate living area from the bedroom - nothing was luxury. The management should think of having better facilities and better rooms at least bed sizes which seemed a bit smaller than the King sizes. The best part of the stay was the good breakfast spread - had covered almost...

This Hotel needs renovation and new management! Rooms are old fashion- bad soundproofing and staff jelling over night trying to solve problems with noisy neighbors- breakfast hall like a fabric - many Indian tourists among guests - one of the worst experiences in Thailand so far - The management tries to get rooms sold - offering large discounts up to...

We stayed here for 2 nights and loved the ambience there and a very clean and tidy room. The hotel is at just 2 minutes walking distance from Nana bts station. There are a variety of restaurants around there with various cuisines like Indian, Persian, Pakistani, Thai, and all sorts of Asian cuisines.. The shopping markets are also quite closer....

Staying in Sukhumvit

Neighbourhood Profile
Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.

Hi everyone, our family has been staying at Ambassador Hotel on our annual Bangkok Vacation for the last 15 years and we love it as it feels like home and the area is just unbeatable!

The last time I went there was in April 2014 and on this trip we noticed the hotel has fallen a few steps back from what it was compared to 2013. A few things I would like to know :

1. The A/C in the Reception area used to be really good and refreshing to walk into after a full day of shopping but in 2014 the A/C was literally non existent, so what I want to know is - was it temporary or is it still the same ?

How about the A/C in the Tower Wing Ground floor lift area (near the fish tanks ?) and in the AM Cafe. We usually hang around these areas hence the concern.

2. We always stay in the Tower Wing and have found that the Rooms and Washrooms were quite good (no foul smell, cockroaches etc) is the standard still the same in the tower wing?

The house keeping in the tower wing used to do an awesome job cleaning the rooms, how is it now ?

3. Is the hotel still happening like it used to be ? One plus point for this hotel used to be that it was never boring (people always in the lobby area etc).

These questions might be weird to some but this year we will be spending around 17 days during the Christmas and new year season in Bangkok and can't let anything spoil our holiday as it is a very special one this year! if the hotel has really gone down we might have to look for a replacement hotel - sadly :(

Thanks,

Jamie - Sri Lanka.
