Thailand is my second home! For nth time, I visited the country during the last quarter of 2019 to attend a very special event of my Alma mater. Being an official delegate for the said occasion, I got free accommodation for entire duration of the event. The main event was held at the hotel and all the delegates from other Asian countries were booked here. The hotel is one of the oldest hotels located at the outskirt of Bangkok but it is accessible to the old airport, Don Muang and could be considered as one of the best ones two decades ago! he organizer chose the hotel since it is more convenient to reach my Alma mater in Pathumthani, away from the heavy traffic of the metropolis.

The hotel's entrance gate is along the main highway but the main lobby of the hotel is bit far, and still need for the vehicle or taxi to move about 200 meters to reach the building. The hotel has a spacious lobby and have sofas for guest and visitors to sit. It has a bar adjoining the lobby and the dining area where the breakfast is serve. As we all know, Thai food is excellent and there were a lot of good choices of food - main course to desserts, drinks to fruits. The hotel has several function rooms to cater a huge number of guests. Unfortunately, I missed its swimming pool!

I was fortunate to occupy the big room (with two single beds) by myself. The room is spacious compare to other hotels that I have stayed in Asia which is very ideal for family affair. However, despite the availability of basic amenities of the room, it was a surprise for me to found out that the "wifi" connection is "not free", or rather was not included in the accommodation which is very unusual for a hotel. In other words, internet service is an added expense on top of the accommodation.

Being a traveller or a tourist, communication is very essential and internet connection is the easiest and fastest way to keep connected and updated with friends, colleagues and families. I personally asked the front manager, and it was explained to me that the organizer did not include internet connection to our accommodation. What made me feel disappointed with the hotel management, was that the hourly rate for the wifi is very expensive as one time login only - which means that the time is clicking even you are not using the service.

If I will be given another chance to visit Bangkok, choosing Rama Gardens will be my last option!

The hotel is located on the main road about 8kms from the airport. It has a large spread of green area. Rooms are large and the Breakfast has a huge spread of menu.
They need to improve upon staff friendliness, wireless connectivity and iron boards in the rooms, toiletry commensurate with the room rent.

We ended up here at 9am for a few hours after a flight delay and cancellation it's at least an hour from BKK airport. The staff were welcoming but not forth coming with the WiFi details we had to request these.

Details for our flight I.E pick up times and breakfast and lunch times were clearly displayed. We managed to get a quick breakfast and they had a fantastic choice: eggs cooked to order (omelette needs a bit more cooking), variety of yoghurt, loads of fresh fruit, Thai food, rolls, toast, pastries, cereal etc.

We were given 2 rooms for three adults which was appreciated and the bed for 2 hours was actually very comfortable.

Lunch was held in a different restaurant to breakfast it was a limited choice but then again we had just woken up. The egg fried rice and beef was tasty along with the pesto pasta. We also made some chicken salad rolls for the airport which were delicious and much needed later in the day! Staff could have been a bit quicker at replenishing milk etc for tea and coffee but overall we had a good stay for a very short amount of time.

On first impressions, the hotel was really nice looking and modern. Rooms were clean and great.
All well until we got to the restaurant in Greenery Cafe, wait almost 40 minutes for our food to then be told they ran out of burger buns. What the frik have they been doing all this time?! They try to apologise with free fruit and ice cream. They come to apologise and to say they will chase this up. Why has this not been cooked for all this time?! We have 2 kids to feed and there was just no communication between the waiters and the chefs. Poor, absolutely poor! Not only that, we booked a room for 2 adults and 2 kids and there’s only 1 king size bed. Had to pay extra just to get an extra single bed. Never again

The rooms here are very good and comfortable. Sporting facilities include several tennis courts, squash courts and swimming pools. The hotel seems to be mainly used by Thai people and for conferences. It is not possible to leave the hotel on foot safely due to the only access being onto a dangerous highway. This makes it tricky to access local restaurants or shops. Wi Fi access in the bedrooms was poor.

Good mid-range hotel near Dong Muang Airport and Kasetsart University. Ideal if you have something to do there. A quiet island in a bustling city. However, a bit far from the city center and the various possibilities for excursions. But for us the location was ideal. That's why we chose this hotel.

Hotel is not far from Don Muang International Airport. Resort feel with a large swimming pool and nice service from front office department staff. Hope to have a chance to revisit again in near future with family and friends. Price is also good.

we have stayed at both the amari airport hotel and the rama gardens when transiting through bangkok, and the rama gardens is far superior. we had a room in the new deluxe wing which was HUGE and very nicely furnished. marble bathroom, sunken tub, gigantic king sized bed. breakfast buffet was great and much better value than the one which was double the price at the amari. dinner buffet for 400 baht/person had a nice range of thai, western, chinese, japanese, etc. food. the hotel was quite busy when we were there, with airport crew members, package tourists, a policemen's convention, etc. but the service was still outstanding.

when you get to the bangkok airport, just go to the information desk and they will call the hotel for you to come and pick you up. pickup was speedy, though it did take a good 15 minutes to actually get to the hotel and another 10 to check in, walk to our room, etc. the amari was more convenient in that respect, but otherwise the rama gardens was far better. we also used the free airport shuttle to the airport, which was very smooth.

the workout facilities were a little outdated, but that was really our only complaint. if i were staying in bangkok to sightsee, i might pick a hotel which was closer to downtown, but for a quick overnight, the rama gardens is excellent value for money.

A large, comfortable and clean "Businessman's type" hotel, about 5-10 minutes drive from the airport. The hotel is well located for the airport, but is a little way out of town; though this need not be a problem, as there are regular shuttles to the sky-train and to some of the key attractions such as the weekend Chatuchak Market. There is a shuttle bus every hour to the airport starting at 5am and breakfast starts at 05.30 so unless you have to be at the airport before about 0615, you can get breakfast prior to departing. The rooms are a good size and are clean and comfortable. The only negative is that there are no tea/coffee facilities in the rooms - which is ok for a one night stop over.

Not that I know of but the previous poster indicates that there is. They will call a taxi for you. Remember that there are 2 international airports in Bangkok. Don Muang Airport is close - just a few minutes by taxi. Suvarnabhumi is quite far, perhaps 1 hour.
