The Rembrandt Hotel Bangkok garners praise for its sterling cleanliness and prime location, with easy access to public transport and vibrant nightlife, though it sits a bit distant from certain tourist destinations. While the lobby exudes elegance, guests have called out the rooms for appearing worn, suggesting a need for updates.
Opinions on the hotel's value and amenities are mixed; some visitors feel shortchanged, pointing to dated facilities. Service experiences vary, with commendations for staff friendliness tempered by reports of disorganization.

About a 10-minute walk from Asoke and Squimbit stations. It is quite difficult to have a suitcase because of the steps on the road. You should take a taxi or grab from the airport. The hotel has the feel of a long-established hotel, and is a large hotel with many bright staff who work hard, although it is undeniable that it has deteriorated. There was also a Japanese speaking staff. I was concerned about the smell overall, but got used to it. The air conditioner is a little louder, but I'm used to that too. The room doesn't hear its neighbors, but sometimes it does. The only amenities are shower gel, shampoo, body lotion and solid soap, swabs and shower cap. You can get 4 bottles of 500ml water a day (for 2 people). There are no slippers. If you're concerned about the hair dryer, as it's very disappointing, the old business hotel's walls are almost airless and won't dry out forever, please bring it. The outlet at this hotel is the same as the Japanese one, so you didn't need to have an iPhone or other device with an outlet. Breakfast is almost the same every day, but I change it a little bit. I couldn't get enough of staying for a week. It was delicious. The staff inside the restaurant want customers to have a morning greeting and a nice day. I had early bed-making time, and I went in for breakfast to clean. I was in a hurry because I had left valuables and luggage out. I wish I had a Don’t disturb sign.
The hotel doorman, Din Day, who was very accommodating, told me about a beautiful and cheap massage parlor behind the hotel, and then he dropped me off in a tuk-tuk. Ask me anything around here! He was very kind. It's a big hotel with a swimming pool, so it's a great place to spend your holiday, with:

We stayed at the Rembrandt for nearly a week at the beginning of our Thailand and Philippines 3 week vacation and had the best time.
The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable and the food was just fabulous. Staff were really friendly, (particularly Wit, who works poolside; bar/restaurant). He helped me a lot with my food intolerances, making sure my drinks were dairy and sugar free) and made myself and my Brother feel at home....thank you Wit!
The location is great, a stones throw from the hustle and bustle of downtown Bangkok but rooms are quiet and relaxing. There's a 7-11 at the end of the road and laundries, a continental coffee shop over the road and massage services/ places to eat & drink at this location.
Stay here. it's just lovely!

Have used the Rembrandt for over 20 years and as usual it did not disappoint. Had friend with us this time and upgraded to Superior Deluxe rooms and they are fantastic. Breakfast was included in the rate and although very busy at this time of year, you can always find somewhere to site. The breakfast is extensive and caters for all needs. Pool area is good with towels and beds and again whilst it was quite busy we always found beds available. Staff as always are attentive and nothing is to much and when we visit family again in 2024 we will be sure to use the Rembrandt. Thank you

Well I have been here at the Rembrandt so many times I’ve lost count, always a fantastic reception and always remember, each and every visit is made special and mainly by the staff.
Firstly the hotel, very clean and always well presented !! Although on this occasion it felt warm inside and not as well air conditioned! This may well be simply down to me!! The attention to detail by everyone shines through, the free tuk tuk as always to the end of the road is very well used and handy to help with the short Walk to the station or 7-11 especially if it’s raining, rooms As usual are spotlessly looked after by the very nice housekeeping staff, these should never be overlooked when giving credit for what they do as there seldom seen,
The staff
Everyone is a credit to this hotel you are ALL very special to me and always show true Thai kindness, courtesy and professionalism, you always have a smile and a happy greeting even after a long day you all still Manage a smile !!!! A lot to be said for this ……
Breakfast
This has lost its sparkle for me , I used to Love breakfast in the Rembrandt, something has changed and this time for the first time I have chosen not to eat breakfast in the hotel, it’s not the staff for sure, but something feels missing!!
Overall
This is my opinion…….
Staff recognition, in my opinion it’s the staff that drive any business forward, this is a very competitive industry and the A game is what is required, the staff make this hotel and me keep coming back!! My personal opinion is that they receive very little praise ( a meaningful thank you goes a long way) and make it visual, there are some fantastic members of staff here, please safeguard them….
I will most definitely be back again
Thank you everyone from the bottom of my heart as this trip draws to and end

Hotel reception very nice and looking forward to the rooms. However they were a bit disappointing as the rooms are tired need some TLC. Old carpet, furniture bashed, marked and scratched. I know its wear and tear but its very noticable. The size of the rooms are good and spacious, with a large comfy bed. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast nice, good selection but can get busy. Location - we felt it was a bit out from the main tourist sites so if you're only there for a few days be aware. In saying that the subway and skytrain is a 10 min walk which was a god send as the traffic in Bangkok is BUSY as you end up sitting a while in a car when trying getting anywhere.

We booked the hotel through Kuoni & were informed that it wasnt "luxury" which suited us as we only needed a base to explore Bangkok. I have stayed in some less-than-stellar hotels over the years, & I’m not fussy as long as I have a clean & comfortable place to sleep. Im also aware you "get what you pay for" but this certainly wasn't the case on this occasion.
1st impressions were decent, but check-in slow, & some confusion regarding our room—either it wasn’t ready, or it was no longer available. Due to the language barrier, it was hard to tell. However, after seeing our room, I suspected it was the latter. We had booked a "Deluxe Room," listed as being a "higher floor with panoramic views of Bangkok." We found ourselves on the 8th floor, & in a hotel with 23 floors, that doesn’t seem "high."
Once our floor, the corridor was dark & dingy, with peeling wallpaper & raised carpet: an accident waiting to happen.
At 1st glance, our room appeared clean, & the bed large & comfortable—that’s where the good ends. There were some unspecified stains on the wallpaper next to the bed, & the shower hose leaked everywhere, creating a pool at the side of the bath.
The "panoramic view of Bangkok" was a view of the swimming pool. When I attempted to use the hair dryer, it worked for a total of 1 minute before overheating & shutting off. For my partner this wasn’t an issue, but for my long hair, drying it became a challenge. We called down & they brought up another one, but by the time this arrived it was quite late. We'd got reservations for which we were gettng ready. I ended up rushed, harassed & late for dinner.
The final straw came after a long day when we returned to find our key card no longer worked. We went down to reception and I asked, what floors deluxe rooms were on. The receptionist informed us Deluxe rooms were on floors 8, 9, & 11. Kuoni also confirmed this to be true, so I suggest the hotel change their marketing of these rooms as it's misleading.
The only meal we’ve eaten at the hotel was breakfast, & it was chaotic both times. We didn't bother the 3rd morning. The restaurant isn’t big enough for the number of guests, featuring only 1 long counter for hot food & coffee, creating massive lines that snake back across the restaurant. There was very little organization from the staff, with people cutting in line left, right & centre. I queued for 15 minutes for a buffet, which isn’t ideal if you want a quick breakfast before heading out.
The hotel did offer some gestures as an apology: a fruit basket, coupons for two free drinks each, & a voucher for dinner the next day. However, we were leaving the next morning; so the latter 2 offers were not useful to us. I think this hotel has potential; it just needs serious updating. Overall, it took the shine off the start of our trip to Thailand.

Dear Katie G, Thank you for choosing to stay at Rembrandt Hotel Bangkok. Our prime location, just a short walk from BTS Asok, MRT Sukhumvit, and Terminal 21 shopping mall, provides easy access to everything the area has to offer. Regarding your check-in experience, while our hotel is quite popular, the check-in process (starting at 2:00 PM) may occasionally take a few extra minutes. We recommend contacting the hotel directly or booking through our official website for the most up-to-date information on room availability and special requests. For safety reasons, all of our hair dryers are designed to automatically shut off when overheating, preventing any potential danger. We hope this explanation helps clarify the situation. Regarding your breakfast experience, we understand that the buffet can become busy during peak times. To avoid long wait times, we suggest enjoying breakfast before 9:30 AM, when there are typically fewer guests. We also have two coffee machines available for guest convenience. We appreciate your feedback regarding the room and will take it into consideration as we continue to make improvements. Your input is valuable, and we are committed to enhancing the guest experience moving forward. Lastly, we are currently undergoing renovations to meet 5-star standards, and we look forward to welcoming you back for an even better experience. Best regards, Rembrandt Hotel Bangkok

This hotel has a great location! The rooms are spacious, and if you’re not fussed about the dated and tired decor then it’s ideal! The carpets are stained and dirty in the corridors. Only one of two lifts was working during our stay; meant for a long wait. At times we used the stairs, here there were loose floor tiles, unsafe tread and terribly marked and stained walls. A lick of paint and updated flooring would sort this easily. Breakfast was mediocre at best, the fresh fruit was the best offering. There’s not nearly enough seating. We had a family suite which was huge, but the beds were unstable, the valance sheets were stained with what looked like blood and the aircon was really noisy. The shower curtains were old and brown and the extractor fan hung from the ceiling! The two redeeming qualities are the location and staff who were kind and polite.

My family and I stayed at Rembrandt hotel for 8 nights and enjoyed our stay here. Rooms were very clean and spacious. The breakfast buffet was very nice and met our expectations. The hotel has two restaurants (both we didn't try) and a rooftop bar which we visited with reasonably priced drinks and good entertainment! , & overall the service provided by the staff at the hotel was excellent. We arrived early to Bangkok and the rooms were already ready so we were extremely appreciative for the early check-in after a 11hr flight from London.
Special shoutout to one of the employees Kim who made us feel very welcomed and delivered exceptional service even outside of her working hours when we spotted her nearby!
The location is convenient located in the area of Sukhumvit, and walking distance to nearest BTS Asok, Terminal 21 shopping mall, and great restaurants such as P Kitchen and Palm 18.
The only downside I have is the hotel wifi cutting out on and off a few times, but we had a Simcard with data so I could hotspot.
I highly recommend staying at the Rembrandt it's a wonderful place to stay!

The twenty-six-storey building is located near the Metro and Sky train stop. On the top floor you have an Indian restaurant that unfortunately was in the works and there is no terrace where you can peer, only on the 5 floor where the pool and a Mexican restaurant are located. Our room on the twelfth floor had good views as there were two windows. The furniture in the room was a little worn out but it looked good quality. We had coffee maker and slippers but no bathrobe. There is a free tuktuk that takes you to the metro stop. From which you enter reception there is a cafeteria where he played the Euro games. Breakfast is served on the first floor and is quite complete in Eastern and Western mode although the bacon was always burned. The staff is attentive and helpful and always with a smile. I did not like that having booked a room on the upper floors they offered me first one on the fifth floor that I do not accept and changed it at the moment. I also didn't like being asked for a credit card when the room was prepaid. Otherwise a fully recommended hotel in relation to cleanliness comfort and situation.

Stayed for 3 nights as a family of 4 with 2 young children. The location was great, only a 5-10 minute walk to Asok (BTS) and the MRT lines. Taxis are available right outside the hotel too. It took 40 mins from BKK at having landed at 20:30.
Check-in was quick and smooth and the rooms were spacious and clean. My only slight negative was that the rooms were very dated, which was no surprise based on other reviews. Having said that, we didn't spend much time in the room except to sleep! The pool area was lovely with great views and excellent to cool down after a day of exploring. The rooftop bar was unfortunately closed for refurbishment which we didn't know about until arrival.
Breakfast was varied and everything we ate was very good. We didn't eat in the hotel but there are a couple of nice restaurants just outside the hotel which are great value for money. All staff were very friendly and helpful.
We would stay again and recommend based on value and location.

I’ve used them before, most recently in August 2023, they’re ok, never had an issue with them but just keep in mind they will be unlicensed/unregulated.
The hotel can order you a city one and it will be around 500 baht. Or download the application called Grab which is Asias version of Uber.
Yes, the cleaner will leave one bottle per person on the side of the room furniture free on a daily basis but it will not be refrigerated.
You can also buy more chilled bottles of water etc from a seven eleven store locally very cheaply.

Brilliant hotell caters for all allergies, just make the hotel and restaurant manager know. However, I would say if the allergy is significant you may want to bring and wear either cotton gloves or latex because they eat a lot of peanuts there 'may' be residue on door handles, shop merchandise etc. But you will enjoy the Rembrant. Beware of the water in the fridge/mini bar it's 150usd. But there is free water also just don't get them mixed up.
Good place to eat is a small restaurant across the street at back of hotel between laundrette and massage. By the way massage is excellent, try it.
There are more places to choose from in the Bangkok area.
