Sena Place is a fairly cheap, old hotel in a quiet location reachable from Phaholyothin and Pradiphat roads (also Rama 6 road but that's less easy to find). It's just walkable from Aree or Saphan Kwai BTS stations unless you have luggage or it's hot / raining, in which case get a taxi or call the hotel and see if...

It's an old hotel (20+ years) and it's showing its age. It's clean enough and the staff is very helpful. The restaurant has the usual fair of Thai food. Their breakfast buffet is actually quite good. It is deep into sides streets (Soi 14 Pradhipat Road & Soi 11 Phoholyothin Road), so to get to other restaurants or to shopping,...

I found helpful staff hard to come by in Thailand so this budget hotel surprised me. Pool and restaurant attahced were ok but breakfast wasn't great but how helpful they were with getting around makes this the perfect solo travller venue. Also the area is a little less crowded than the centre and has some very artisan shops and restaurants.

Came here as a layover night between flights. Pamphlet made it look alright. WRONG. DISGUSTING. The staff is rude. The restaurant is over priced and I wouldn't even think about eating the food based on the way everything else looks. My bed sheets a are ripped. The shower has never been clean. It's almost a place out of a horror...

The hotel building and facilities are very old and definitely needs upgrading. Room size consider good for the price. Our room did not have any towels given, we have to call the housekeeping to bring to us. Room door is base on normal room key to be open, our door needs to be slammed hard in order to be closed...

I was travelling alone so cheap was good. Back in 2010 (not March 2013) I paid $34 a night. Decent room, clean. Nice, helpful staff. Internet PC was available for rent. Arrived late the first night, had a good meal at their restaurant. Breakfast was OK. Great pool was on the 5th floor. It was one block from street food...

Arrived in Bangkok late and enquiried at airport, shown a glossy leaflet and booked two rooms. Reception looked good but them downhill. First triple rom had a funny smell but was spacious. Double room had a noisy air conditioning unit and bathroom had a lot of mould around the bath. Breakfast was included but not that good.

This was the first hotel I ever stayed at in Thailand over 10 years ago. I stayed there a second time about 5 years ago, and it was OK. I just revisited it the third time on a temporary stop in Bangkok. Sadly, it has taken a major nosedive from a decent 3-star hotel to a near 1-star or less....

I was booked to stay at the hotel for 4 nights as I was attending a course there. The hotel is quite a way out of Bangkok, and about 15 minutes walk from the nearest Skytrain station. The hotel is comfortable, but nothing special. Our bedroom was fine, though lacked some storage space. We ate from the a la carte...

Staying in Ari

Neighbourhood Profile
Ari
Home to at least a dozen hip coffee shops, sophisticated boutiques and some seriously fine restaurants, Ari is the newest epicentre of Bangkok cool. Fleeing from the skyrocketing rents in Thonglor and Ekamai, many young urbanites made Ari their new home. This mostly residential neighbourhood outside the city centre isn't much of a trendy area on first sight, but if you scratch the surface of government buildings and noodle shops, you'll find out that there's loads of hidden gems waiting to be discovered. Bring a local friend or do your research on beforehand to avoid missing out on all the fun.
