I have stayed here on a regular basis over the past 10 years. The location is excellent, close to the Sky train and Silom Rd.Rooms are comfortable and excellent value for money. Ideal for business or a city break. No fitness facilities but close to Lumpini Park.

Swiss Lode is a small bourique hotel, with great accessibility (close to salar daeng sky train station), close to patpong. It has excellent shopping nearby (Central is round the corner). It also has well-appointed rooms, with very friendly staff, who remember their guests every visit (I have stayed three times & have never had a complaint). I will only stay...

I've stayed here a few times, and would highly recommend it. The location is perfect - fantastic restaurants and bars are only a few doors away, and it's a 2-minute walk to the sky train. The staff are friendly, and the breakfast staff were especially polite and helpful. The rooms are spotless and spacious. Will stay here again!

First, I disagree with the previous reviews that the hotel is old and tired. These travelers have clearly not seen "old and tired" in South or East Asia. It was simply not our experience that the hotel was run down. Of the hundreds of options in Bangkok this is one of the better in the median price range. Uniquely located...

Arrived the first time at this hotel late at night to be greeted by smiling attentive receptionists who had my reservation form already completed and just awaiting my signature. A cold drink and cool towel was on hand to welcome me. With a minimum of fuss taken to my room, shown how everything worked. Hotel has a library corner on...

I've been staying at the Swiss Lodge for the last ten years. Recently I ventured back to the property to stay a few days in one of their suites. There is one suite per floor, and it is similar to a small one bedroom apartment. The bedroom and living area are separated by a door with wooden slats (similar to...

We arrived on the first day of Songkran and Convent Rd, where the lodge is situated, was closed off for the festivities. Of course we got very wet and had a lot of fun. The staff of the lodge where wonderful. Helpful and friendly. Swimming pool very nice too. We were upgraded from a twin room to a VIP room....

This is a gem of a hotel. The location is the best in Bangkok as it is near the night markets and entertainment. It is also near Sala Daeng skytrain station. 5th floor pool/terrace. choice of rooms/suites and staff very attentive. Bar restaurant of its own and the buffet breakfast very good.

This hotel is a great location if you want to be right around the corner from hectic Patong. The added benefit is the access to the Skytrain which is also a block away. The hotel itself is very outdated and has that musky smell throughout. The rooms were not very clean, and again in need of some major renos. Breakfast...

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
