Since my long-time favourite the Viengtai is still undergoing renovations and is yet to metamorphose as the Khaosan Ibis Viengtai, I stayed here on transit as it is near to where family friends live. Situated down Soi 23 off Sukhumvit the hotel is a little tired but everything worked. The hotel is about 50 meters from Soi Cowboy but in...

Everyday after exploring Bangkok we go home to our spacious Superior Room that feels and smells clean, with all our used clothes down to our used bath gels neatly arranged. Our complimentary water is always being restocked once consumed whenever I peek in the fridge. The TV & Wi-fi are properly working and the airconditioning is perfectly adjustable. We always...

I checked in as a solo traveler on Sunday and upon entering my room couldn't help but notice how dingy and dirty everything was- the grout of the tiles in the bathroom were black with grime, there were stains on the wood floors, my sheets were dirty when I came into the room- the list goes on. On top of...

Stayed here in January 2017. First time at this hotel. Nice, mid-sized, hotel with a professional staff. Room was nice, modern, clean, good bathroom, in-room safe, and bed/pillow were very comfortable. Very convenient to amenities: local food, restaurants on Sukhumvit, Starbucks right around the corner, street-side food, bars and nightlife. Short easy walk to Asoke BTS station, which makes reaching...

I had a pleasant stay at the Tai-Pan. The room was reasonably priced considering it was in the peak holiday season. It is placed in a great location. Terminal 21 shopping district is a 5 minute walk away, it has a great food court. Also you are in close proximity to both Bangkok rail networks, the BTS and MRT. As...

This hotel is very handy to both Asoke BTS Skytrain and Sukhumvit MRT Underground stations. They are less than 10 minutes walk away. In addition it is close to Sukhumvit and Asoke Roads which is very handy and central. The rooms are big and clean. and the staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel breakfast is to be recommended with...

I stayed at the Tai Pan hotel from Dec 1, 2016 to Dec 13, 2016. Very good hotel. Definitely nothing fancy but it served it's purpose. I got an excellent rate through the hotel website. The room and bathroom was very basic. The room door lock is opened with an old style room key and not an electronic key card....

The hotel is quite old but the room was big and clean. My room's bathroom and tub was newly renovated...it looked and felt new :) Bring your own slippers though. A Family Mart convenience store at the street corner. Breakfast was decent. There are many establishments that offer great massage service and plenty of restauranta to choose from.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Tai-Pan Hotel for 6 nights . We got a studio room which was hugh and spacious . The studio room came with all the usual amenities. The Aircon worked fine and the king size bed provided was pretty firm and comfortable.Breakfast is served in the cafe on the ground level. One can...

Staying in Sukhumvit

Neighbourhood Profile
Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.
