since many years we are guests of the Sukhothai Hotel. for some people the hotel might be a bit out of the way but for us it is an quiet oasis in the middle of bangkok. The staff has become like friends. Always a pleasure. But I must mention a few: kung Botang for the restaurants, Dillok for the pool...

The Sukhothai Hotel is just a great hotel. Great staff. Large rooms. When wandering around this hotel you just soak up the "Thai" building style. Not too high. Spread out. Thai decor. When staying at a five star hotel most times they are all the same. Great but you would not know if you were in Hong Kong or Chicago? This...

Very elegant place, great rooms, amazing place in the hearth of Bangkok. It is a traditional and conservative design that is still up to date and grand looking. The place looks a bit out of place and out of time. The pool is also beautiful. The brunch at the pool is a little bit too much food but very good....

Second trip to Sukhothai reflecting a previous delightful experience. Bangkok is a truly astonishing city encompassing 21st century architecture and astonishing contrasts in mores between the spiritual and the commercial but even in winter (35.c in December) it can get a little fraught for those unused to such. To sustain yourself a) stay at the Sukhothai its sublime service will...

I love this hotel because the location of the hotel. It is located in the middle of Bangkok but as soon as I entered the driveway of the hotel I felt I went to the resort. I could not hear any traffic on the road. The restaurant is very good. My room is facing the lotus pond in the middle...

Currently at the hotel. It seems a combination of poor management, understaffing and lack of investment are contributing to its decline. It's a pity, because it used to be so good. Problems started even before arriving. I contacted the hotel with two messages from the "contact us" part of the website, but no one responded after three days. Finally had...

I've stayed at The Sukhothai many times and this place never fails to amaze me. Calm and serenity awaits you the moment you enter the compound. You will forget the hustle and bustle of Bangkok for a while. The rooms are stylish and the large bathrooms are exceptionally clean. The garden is breathtakingly beautiful, with fairy lights at night. Staff...

Staying in Sathorn

Neighbourhood Profile
Sathorn
Sathorn is Bangkok’s central business district, but here you’ll find much more than international banks and suited-up office workers. Take a stroll along the small alleys between the skyscrapers and you’ll find yourself among Bangkokians living life at a much slower pace. Feast on fantastic Thai food which you can find in the town-house restaurants, office food courts and sidewalk food stalls spread all over the area, especially around St. Louis Hospital. A visit to Sathorn is not complete without a drink at one of the glitzy sky bars perched atop its skyscrapers.
