This was my first time in Bangkok and staying at the Sukhothai was the best part! Upon arrival, I was flustered with the hectic experience of figuring out my fare with my cab driver from the airport. The staff at the front of the hotel immediately came to my rescue and was able to correctly figure out my fare (ensuring...

Having been in Thailand for many years, I have been fortunate to stay in many of the best hotels...Sukhothai is calming, understated elegance and very Thai. Unlike Krung Tep wing of the Shangrila or Oriental which are excellent, Sukhothai's location and simple pleasantness is the best.

My new favourite five star hotel. Ten day stay. Beautiful surroundings in a 'post-modernist' fusion of Thai and 'western' architecture. Our deluxe room looked into a water courtyard filled with water lilies, and a green 'island' in the centre. Friendly service in all areas of the hotel, from the man on the front gate and the concierge, through each of...

The SUKHOTHAI BANGKOK continues to amaze!, there's nowhere quite like it... Friendly, professional and extremely welcoming, the easy going, but well thought out attention to detail is remarkable. Luckily Khun Botan keeps this place together, the epitome of the Sukhothai way! Tippie ensures everything is arranged beautifully, everybody appears to work extremely well together to make sure you experience a...

Sumptuous Thai silk, warm wood floors, beautiful ambiance make this a hotel you don't want to leave. Excellent food in all the hotel restaurants, and I enjoy the beauty of the Celadon where this time they had 2 beautiful traditional Thai dancers performing. The breakfast is definitely worth it- the food is somehow the tastiest and I always enjoy my...

Was on a business trip to Bangkok and stayed in the Sukhothai for a week. Took the hotel limo from the airport to the hotel, excellent service as the Hotel rep was already waiting for me at the airport. Service in the hotel is excellent like most hotels by the way. Breakfast in the hotel is excellent, a wide selection...

I have stayed many times in The Sukhothai, Bangkok mostly on work. I love the wide space, the lawns & the peace n quiet. The hotel is in the heart of the city but due to the large grounds is very peaceful. The staff are ever attentive. The pool & spa are great. The food ( buffet or a la...

Stayed here last week with my family and absolutely enjoyed it. The staff was extremely helpful, especially the concierge. Ask for Sean if he's around. Such a knowledgeable and friendly guy! From suggesting day trips to restaurant recommendations, he really did made our trip much more enjoyable. Truly an asset for Sukhothai!

Staying at the iconic Sukhothai is always a welcome treat. Hence the hotel needs to live up to that name and almost mythical status for design hotel aficionados. Twenty five years on, the hotel still amazes - with its well kept lawns and groundbreaking design ( this was in the 90s). The hospitality scene in Bangkok has moved on since...

I had a phenomenal experience at this hotel. I was incredibly pleased with the level of detail The Sukhothai Bangkok has invested in created a blissful experience. Upon entering the hotel and going through a few administrative details, the lady at reception walked me to my room and asked me if I was pleased with it before finalizing the arrangements....

Staying in Sathorn

Neighbourhood Profile
Sathorn
Sathorn is Bangkok’s central business district, but here you’ll find much more than international banks and suited-up office workers. Take a stroll along the small alleys between the skyscrapers and you’ll find yourself among Bangkokians living life at a much slower pace. Feast on fantastic Thai food which you can find in the town-house restaurants, office food courts and sidewalk food stalls spread all over the area, especially around St. Louis Hospital. A visit to Sathorn is not complete without a drink at one of the glitzy sky bars perched atop its skyscrapers.
