I paid for room and breakfast for 2 rooms, but due to early 4 am checkout for return flight, did eat breakfast. However they insisted I pay 110BHT for my guest in the other room drinking the non free water. I explained I had paid for 4 breakfast's and they were getting paid for nothing as we were leaving. Didn't...

Dear ian m, Thank you for staying with on your recent visit to Bangkok. I apologize if our front desk associate in doing their work came across as being inflexible and once again do apologize for any impression that you have that it was not managed correctly. We certainly understand the frustration you may have felt, but do agree that...

This is a very fine hotel right on the Chao Phraya riverside. Its location is away from the main tourist areas but the free shuttle boat to the Metro and easy access to the public river boats helps get you about. You can walk to Hua Lamphong station in about 20-25 minutes. Nice pool and terrace on the riverside. Bedroom...

We stayed at the Royal orchid as part of our Thailand holiday booked through MyThailand.com.au. Every thing was perfectly catered for by MyThailand and the Sheraton. We had limousine airport transfers with fast tracked immigration, a room upgrade to a Junior Suite and tours of Bangkok organised by the efficient hotel staff from their own in house tour office. The...

We arrived on 9th of Jan 13 for a 4 night stay. The hotel pick up at the airport worked well and we were whisked away to the hotel in very short order. Met at the hotel door by Nimitz, we were taken directly to our suite where we were checked in most efficiently and all explained to us regarding...

Extremely well run 5 star luxury hotel on the riverside at Bangkok. I thought the riverside bar and restaurant was one of the best on the river and perfect for a sun-downer. I liked the two well-run pool areas, one in the old gardens of the Portuguese Embassy. Secluded with a nice bar, with the hussle and bustle of the...

Stayed here for three nights after a month in India, wanting to chill out. Great view of the river from our room, facilities all you expect from a Sheraton. Not a lot to do in immediate vicinity but free shuttle to Metro plus public boat landing next door. Can get overrun by conference attendees but otherwise quiet and relaxing, and...

There is no doubt you pay a premium to be at a hotel on the river. Having said that, there is actually something very special about being at this location in Bangkok. You are away from the hustle, bustle of Bangkok and unless you have business in the city, this is a great spot. I used to always stay on...

This was our first trip to Bangkok and we were unsure where the best place was to stay. This hotel is right on the river and offers a boat shuttle service across the river where it is then very easy to pick up the monorail in to the busy part of the city. The rooms were comfortable and nothing was...

No I do not exaggerate - the Breakfast buffet at Royal Orchid is stellar. Room's are clean and well stocked, sheets are devine, great views of the Bangkok skyline, and the hotel is situated in a prime location along the Chao Phraya river. A cab ride to the busy Pat Pong night market is aroun 10-20 thai baht. The hotel does...

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
