There was nothing bad about the hotel except they charge for WIFI which is a crime in this day and age. Service was perfect, you feel like royalty staying here. Rooms feel a little dated in the decor but are well kept. Only ate here at breakfast but the buffet was fantastic and had the best mimosas I had the...

We stayed in the Mandarin Oriental in Bangkok for 5 nights over Christmas. We booked a garden suite as we knew they had been recently renovated. Certainly not cheap at nearly £2000 per night following the deterioration in sterling, but an amazing space to spend time in. The room was like a split level New York apartment done out very...

We decided to stay at Mandarin Oriental because of all the nice comments we read on Tripadvisor, sadly were left disappointed. It seemed like it wasn't a good value for the money. Here are just some of the things that I never saw in a review but feel are relevant to this hotel: (-) Website says Internet/ WiFi is Complimentary,...

That tries to offer a perfect moment and gets quite close to perfect. Beautiful room, good breakfast, nice location. But sometimes it is about the small things that make a difference - especially when taking into account the room prices. Such as charges for wifi is really not acceptable anymore or refusing to provide miles as part of Miles and...

Probably one of the best hotels in the world. The service is exceptional, the facilities are luxurious and the food is great. We tried the thai restaurant and it was excellent. Bamboo bar is a unique place for a drink before or after dinner. Pricey but worth it.

Straight out of Epcot Center. ok if u like that kind of gaudy charm. Overly fussy with absurd dress codes for mealtimes etc, meanwhile loud children everywhere. Underwhelming. Check was fine, room was fine. Very comfortable bed and sheets. Lovely butler service (had the buttons replaced on a dress within 30 minutes). We wanted to visit the palace, and given...

This was my first time in Bangkok and my agent couldn't have picked a better hotel for me. Everything from the moment you're greeted at the entrance to checking out was 1st class! The restaurants were also fabulous!

Perfect hotel with the best standards and service. One of the best in the Mandarin group. Staff were excellent in every area of the hotel from Reception to the restaurants. The best choice in the city.

Excellent hotel with history Rooms in new-classical style, well furnished. Ask for River Wing rooms to get a view on the river. Welcoming and excellent staff all around. Enjoy a drink on the waterfront terrace - a haven of peace with Bangkok's excitement just outside once you leave the hotel. After having tried other hotels in other area's of Bangkok,...

Have kept coming here since 1985 when awaiting a home to be finished, stayed for 3 1/2 months and feel I have never checked out (the Eagles-Hotel California syndrome) ! Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
