Lebua again of course! It is easy to decide to come back. One of my absolute favourite in Bangkok. A five star experience. Big rooms and I recommend to add a little extra and stay on club level with river view. On the top of that you find Siricco, the roof top bar and restaurant. Bangkoks number one. Of course...

During our three day stop in Bangkok. Lebua was the hotel that stood out from the rest and having seen the hotel in the hangover film along with the tripadvisor recommendations we felt it was the right choice to book and we weren't disappointed. We had a really warm welcome by the staff at the reception desk who having found...

We stayed for two nights and had a nice time. We arrived very early and we managed to check in three hours before normal which was nice and then let us use the pool and spa before our room was ready. The conceriege was very helpful as well. There is some great local food vendors right outside as well which...

Rooms are big but not really nice. Service is not great for a "premium hotel" views from the balcony and sky bar are nice but there are lots of hotels with roof top bars and a much better service. You have to wait very long to get and elevator....think there are three going up and three down. Crowded with people...

We came to this hotel just to experience the rooftop bar that is featured in the film, The Hangover. Whilst the bar is simply breath-taking, with the most wonderful view of Bangkok, it really is a tourist trap and, as such, is massively overcrowded and hugely over-priced.

Dear Stuart K Thank you for sharing your lebua experience with. We are sorry that it did not completely meet your expectations. As for all popular places we attract numerous guests and we feel glad to be this successful. Please try our restaurant breeze on your next visit. It also is al fresco, located on the 52nd and 51st floor...

Holds itself out as a luxury destination. So why am I surrounded by trashy kids partying on Daddies credit card? We decide to order a glass of champagne each, first mistake. The bar girl then starts a high pressure sales routine to upsell us a bottle. Perrier Jouet for £400. This stuff is £30 at our local wine merchant, and...

Dear Gavin Gilbert First of all, though belated, a Happy New Year! Thank you for your comment and for having taken the time to write it. I like your style and this subtle undertone of (British?)irony, I must admit, and I do mean that seriously. Yes, Sky Bar is popular also because of the movie Hangover II which was shot...

Firstly let me say that it takes a lot for me to write this as i always try and see the positives in places. We are staying at the Lebua hotel and decided to have a drink in the famous sky bar...big mistake! Cattle would recieve better treatment. The bar was so busy that there was hardly room to stand....

Dear Rebecca Thank you for having taken the time to share your lebua experience with us. It is sad to read that we did not meet your expectations. Our DOME gastronomy, which comprises the restaurants Mezzaluna and Sirocco and the bars Sky Bar, Distil and Flute, along with the Vantage Point terrace, is very popular and people flock to it...

I stayed here in advance of a couple that wanted to visit for a honey moon. ( I like to check a hotel out before I offer it as a venue for such an important stay) I have experienced many hotels in Bangkok and each holds many different secrets, styles and treasures. This one seemed a bit odd. I love...

Good views, pricey drinks (about £16 per cocktail), you will be escorted in the lift to here if you are not staying at the hotel - beware there is a dress code (smart dress, no shorts or sports shoes).

Probably best to start with the disclaimer that we are not accustomed to five or even for star accommodation as we are backpackers so if you have super high hotel standard, better scroll on. If you are a backpacker that wants to take advantage of being in Thailand to stay in the sort of hotel you could never otherwise afford...

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
