We really enjoyed our stay at Loog Choob. The homestay is beautifully designed, with modern and comfortable touches everywhere. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. It is located in a quieter area of town, which has its appeals. There is a canal boat stop nearby, and we found this to be a fun way to get around the city....

Was really impressed with Loog Choob Homestay from the moment they reached out via email requesting our arrival time. They provided us multiple mobile numbers to help our taxi driver find them as well as an estimate of how much a *metered* taxi should cost. Upon arrival we were provided a small tourist information packet that included maps (useful!) to...

The owner is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and spacious, and the bed is large and comfortable. The hotel is very quiet and we slept like babies. There's a small kitchen with free snacks coffee sugar etc, a laundry room and a small roof garden with lovely views during the evening. Some taxi drivers have difficulty finding...

I arrived very late that night (3.00am), but the owner (Su) still patiently wait to process the check-in. It's a shame that I could not stay any longer. There are two 24 hours convenient shops located nearby. My room is facing the river, and so happened that the Tabebuia Rosea trees along the river is blossoming, given an impression of...

Great location overlooking canal. Homestay had great style and personality. Very tastefully decorated. Room was super clean. Clothes washer available for use at no charge. Rooftop views were amazing. Pantry on each floor was a nice feature. Microwave, toaster, jams, spreads & biscuits. Croissants & breads put out each morning. We had to leave homestay at 4am to catch a...

We stayed at the Junior Suite for 2 nights. Everything was fantastic - Sukanya and her family were such wonderful hosts. Her mum speaks chinese and our teochew dialect, which made our conversations so warm. We celebrated my husband's birthday and Sukanya took the trouble to suggest where to order the cake and helped us make the order and took...

This was a great place to stay. Our main concern was it was so very hot and we have a toddler so it was difficult to walk places. Even the 2 km to Banglamphu was too far in the heat, and it meant we were pretty much stuck during the long morning and evening peak hour when taxis were difficult...

Staying in Dusit

Neighbourhood Profile
Dusit
When wandering around the Dusit Palace grounds, you'd almost forget you're still in a Southeast-Asian city. The Renaissance-style buildings and leafy gardens wouldn't be out of place in an European capital, and the serenity here is in stark contrast with the chaotic city life outside of its complex walls. Dusit is one of Bangkok's oldest districts, and while the rest of Bangkok is modernising at a rapid pace, Dusit seems to have stood the test of time. Come here to find family businesses in traditional shophouses, small-scale local markets and streets unfazed by modern city life.
