Upon arrival of the top inn I had pre booked 2 nights I went to check in and there was a deposit of 1000 baht which I thought was to steep. If you are looking to be on the heart of the khao san road this is not bad but I have heard that D&D inn is better. The room...

The Top Inn is in a good location, it's a short walk to some of the main attractions in Bangkok. The main downside is there's no wifi in the room, and the buffet breakfast they sell is located in a different hostel down the road. The breakfast isn't the best and we saw a rat at the hostel that served...

Basic room tucked off Khaosan Road. Very cheap so perfect for a travellers. Room was pretty clean, en suite was good too. Only criticism is that the rooms are a little run down and could use some TLC. The lady on the desk is also quite sassy, bordering on rude!

We booked this hotel as a cheap basic stopover whist doing the tourist thing around Bangkok! Room was very basic with a private toilet/ wet room. Receptionist wasn't the most friendly but helped answer most questions! Laughed on arrival when she saw we had suitcases & found it amusing to tell us we were on the 4th floor with no...

Room was okay for the price, the bed was too hard for me but the air conditioning was very good. You have to pay 1000 baht deposit when you check in. Fantastic location just off kao San Road, can be difficult to find!

Clean and comfy hotel, not particularly luxurious but ideal location and we had no complaints whilst we stayed there. We booked our first two nights of our 4 month backpacking tour of se Asia here, which I recommend. We mainly stayed in hostels after that but to be able to get off a 15 hour flight and get a good night's...

The room was a bit depressing but you get what you pay for in that aspect. Air conditioning was good which was welcomed after meeting the humidity of Bangkok. We stayed for two nights, the receptionist who worked in the morning up until late afternoon was useless and in fact the rudest person I've met in the whole of Asia...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
